Pricey, cramped, and assertive staff are just a few of the detractors in this secluded eatery. Upon entry, staff insist on taking your coat and you have to stick to your guns should you want to keep it. The cramped conditions are exacerbated by the abundant knick knacks and attempts to make you think you went to Grand Mas House. The promised warmth of the tiny fire place will likely not reach you. Then there's the food. What little you get is flavorless. The chicken parm would have been outdone by a frozen Stouffers dinner. I made better with a can of Tuttorosso crushed in minutes at home. In fact I think straight from the can is better than what I was served. The chicken was pounded flat and still tough. I do also understand that garlic bread should be enjoyed with the meal, not before, and not be dried out sticks which render to breadcrumbs. Where is the warm garlic loaf to delight your senses? Dust. The portions are tiny and the prices exorbitant. Looking around you would see no private diners, you know a romantic couple, but tables of 8 or more and no kids. That is, corporate accounts only. The serving staff are knattily dressed and very attentive but boastful and sure to tell you how good your food is. I think they must add a hefty percentage to the prices. Do try somewhere else. I do cook well but I am no pro. I have experienced my match many times and then some when going out. Even from pizzerias. Actually some of them are...
Read moreMy wife and I recently found this place about a year ago. Have gone 4 times and have had nothing but exceptional service and food. I sort of want to keep this place a hidden gem. They recommend reservations, but walking in should be no issue for a small party of 2-4. However, every time I make a reservation, we are greeted and seated immediately with our table prepared and water already served, which is a nice touch. Not many restaurants actually prepare the table for the reservation that was made previously.
Each time we have had the same waiter which has been great. He is always accommodating and polite and attentive. Other staff have also been friendly and kind.
Soft butter is always served to go with the delicious bread. The fried calamari is great. The chicken parm is good. My favorite has been the NY Strip with Gorgonzola cheese melted on top. Cooked perfect each time. The cheese gives it a great flavor that just works well together. Had it twice and my wife also had it and it’s delicious each time. And for dessert the tartufo is probably the best I’ve had. Highly recommend.
We have decided to make this a place for special occasions such as birthdays or anniversary’s. It’s a place that we truly enjoy and look forward to coming to for years to come. Highly suggest it. Prices are very reasonable. Much more expensive places with mediocre food. This place is worth...
Read moreMy wife, brother and sister in law went for dinner the other night. It was my wife’s and mine 1st time there. The food was fantastic. We started with the roasted red pepper and calamari appetizers. Probably the best calamari I ever had. Roasted red pepper, cheese and olives were very tasty. For the main course I ordered the pork loin. It was very tender and juicy, had a great flavor with the seasoning they added. My wife had ravioli which was cooked just right and the cheese flavor was outstanding. My sister in law had veal that was so tender it melted in your mouth. My brother in-law had filet of sole franchise. I did not taste it but he said it was outstanding. We had coffee and dessert. Their cheesecake is to die for, so good. We had red wine (Montepulciano) throughout our meal which was very tasty and very generous pouring. I would give this restaurant a 10 out of 10. The portions of food were just right and the price was not expensive. Oh yes and the waiter (Tim) was very attentive and a pleasure to talk to. If you want to have a great relaxing meal where you are not rushed out the door try Cutillo’s you will be very happy...
