I ate here last week and it was awesome. It wasn’t very busy so we were seated immediately. The server was very kind and attentive. My son and I both got breakfast. I got eggs and hash and was pleasantly surprised the hash was homemade. They made it using the home fry style potatoes which made it very hardy. I chose sausage links with my breakfast and again was surprised they weren’t the typical tiny finger style ones you typically see and buy at the store. My son got the country fried steak breakfast and he loved it. I tried some and the steak breading was nice and thick and super crunchy. The sausage gravy was honestly the best I’ve ever had. You could really taste the herb seasoning. Everything was cooked to perfection. No runny eggs, barely toasted bread, or burnt home fries. The coffee was great and they made my son an Arnold Palmer that he said was amazing. The food portions were huge, everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The server was extremely friendly and the food was served in a timely manner. Honestly they couldn’t do anything to improve and I couldn’t more highly recommend it. Definitely...
Read moreNot being from the area, we would never have known about this place if my wife and I never took a hot air balloon ride earlier in the morning. During that hot air balloon ride we met a very lovely lady whose name is Sally. During general conversation with Sally we learned that she owned a little diner called Sally's Hen House.
My wife and I were intrigued and decided to check it out after our ride was over.
We arrived at Sally's Hen House to find a small diner/luncheonette with a rural rustic charm to it, inside and out. We were allowed to seat ourselves and then we were promptly greeted by our waitress. Unfortunately I don't have her name but she was super friendly and very attentive.
We ordered coffee, which is usually a 50/50 at diners, you just never know what you're in for. But we found the coffee here to be excellent. Then came the food. Our breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, kielbasa, home fries, and corn beef hash. It was the best diner breakfast we ever had! So whatever your doing in the kitchen....DON'T CHANGE IT! The food was amazing.
We live a couple hundred miles away but we'll be back to...
Read moreThis was my first time eating at this restaurant and it was a great experience! There seemed to be only one waiter/waitress for all the tables in the restaurant. She was so friendly and wonderful. She started some conversations with us and other tables too. The waitress seemed aware of the customers if they had a problem too. Someone struggled to get ketchup from the bottle so she swapped the ketchup with him for a other ketchup that was filled up. It wasn't crowded but not empty either. The food tasted pretty good. I had the fried chicken with sausage gravy. The gravy was delicious. Only thing really was the hash browns. It wasn't horrible or bad, just not exactly what I was expecting. Otherwise, my family all seemed to enjoy their food. The restaurant building seemed pretty small on the outside but the inside seemed to be bigger. The design and decorations are beautiful. I kept looking around the restaurant at the signs and paintings...
