Crickets Pub & Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Lac du Flambeau

We are new to the area so we’ve been checking out different places for fish fry. The reviews for Crickets were good so we thought we’d try it. I’m not sure if the other people who reviewed Crickets just haven’t been exposed to good food and service or what but we were more than disappointed. We loved the dog when we first walked in but that was the only thing good. There were very few people in the bar yet we waited nearly an hour for fish. Once the fish came all three of us noticed that our fish was actually just batter. I don’t think any of us actually ended up with even a McDonald’s fish filet sized amount of actual fish on our plate. I ate all my “batter” which was horrible but thought I’d be fine with the French fries to at least fill me up. I didn’t know it was possible but you CAN actually make nasty fries. We will not...

Let me start with the old fashioned. It was perfect for sure. Then let’s move on to the first course of the shrimp chowder. Let me tell you from a soup connoisseur that this was TO DIE FOR!!! Then we will move on and to the salad. A salad with a croissant? Yes they have that here! Then the icing on the cake was as the amazing prime rib!!! I will tell you I will never ever get prime rib anywhere else! This is the place to go to for sure!!! Thank you crickets for the best...

Food was "meh", only thing that was actually decent were the fries. I ordered chips with my burger, just a small bag of lays potato chips? Really? Didn't even open them on to the plate. The bad part: the EXTERIOR! The owner had chickens running around outside, lawn wasn't mowed, a garage was a mess, tore apart vehicles. The WORST part: They opened at 11am, we got there, no window lights were on, and the main door was locked! 10/10 would NOT recommend! Never ever...
