This was my 2nd visit. My 1st visit really had me impressed. It was a Tuesday night with trivia. The wait staff was kind and wanted to ensure that everyone was having a great time. Even though the place was packed, we were seated within 10 minutes and had drinks and apps straight away. Our food was out in less than 20 minutes and it was an enjoyable evening.
As I was so impressed I decided to take my Wife on a Thursday night. First the front door was locked and there seemed to be no lights on. I followed another couple around back and sure enough it was open. I asked the bartender if the front door was intended to be locked and was given a strange look before being told it was broken. I suggested putting a sign on it then as we would've left had it not been for the other couple heading around the side. The place was less than half full and we were seated right away in the outdoor section.
We waited 10 minutes before anyone showed up to greet us or ask us if we wanted a drink.
We ordered mac and cheese bites and some spicy shrimp as appetizers. At the same time put in our food order.
10 minutes goes by.... 20 minutes goes by and our waiter says sorry for the wait in passing. 30 minutes go by... finally 40 minutes later we have our two deep fried appetizers. They were good, but 40 minutes for something to come out of the deep fryer? Come on. A different person brings them out, drops them off and leaves. No "we"re sorry about the wait" no nothing.
Finished our apps without hearing from our waiter and began waiting for our food. 10 mins, 20 mins. By this point I've been noticing other people getting food that ordered after us. My Wife and son get up to walk around. 30 mins our waiter says sorry for the wait in passing.
40 minutes after our appetizers our mini corn dogs, french fries, chicken sandwich and burger come out. Again by someone other than our waiter and she didn't even know which table it went to and walked around until I realized and called her over. Mini corn dogs = burnt, french fries = soggy, burger = turned into jerky. Thankfully my Wife's chicken sandwich was good.
Our waiter finally came over and I explained that had they not brought out our food I was going to ask for my bill and leave. We sat there entirely way too long for what we ordered only to have overcooked and at the same time other things under cooked. He acted surprised and said he's just the middle man. We asked for a box for the chicken sandwich and I explained that I couldn't eat the burger and we weren't eating the fries as they were cold and soggy. You would think the waiter would have gotten management involved or said hey since you couldn't eat your meal at all we'll take that one off. Nope he offered nothing. Instead he insults us further by saying I hope the food was good as we left most of it...
Read moreAlways good food and the service is usually pretty decent. I know times and STAFFING are especially hard right now… I used to waitress for many years, and get it! So not knocking anyone. But, was there with my family on a recent Saturday afternoon 2:30-3:00pm time frame, maybe 6 tables outside and hardily anyone inside,I noted how many younger staff were working out on the patio and seemed like they could’ve used some direction or a seasoned employee helping out. They just kind of stood there, didn’t check in, and other tables were getting upset that their drinks weren’t coming out after quite awhile. It was actually taking away from our experience listing to them complain. The waitress had to go back and ask that particular table 3 times what drinks they were wanting and not once wrote them down. So I could see why they were annoyed. Other tables were going and getting their drinks from the inside bar because no one was coming to them. A few items got mixed up at our table, and my husbands burger came out at least 10 minutes before my meal and kiddos. We had apps and a wrap, so nothing that should have taken any longer than the burger, just kind of weird. Even with all that went on it, it won’t keep me from supporting their business! It was most likely just an off day, but made me feel bad/cringe for the owner as to how a normally busy day of the week was being handled. I actually almost approached him a few days later when I saw him in public or emailed him, but didn’t want it held against me if when I came in again. My husband and I aren’t complainers, we don’t want things for free in life, we still tipped the waitress generously, and will return. But it’s been on my mind and I felt like the owner...
Read moreIf you don’t have to drive more than five minutes, don’t like beer or other drinks, have time to wait, and want very simple food, this is a good place. Otherwise go elsewhere.
We waited, without any complaint, for about an hour for a table. We enjoyed the beautiful day with a beer sitting on the grass. Eventually we asked how much longer, because we were starving when we arrived, and were told we’d been paged forever. Many tables were sat that could have been ours. I guess the pagers either don’t work on their patio area or ours didn’t. We were seated and ordered, then we were asked to give up our large table so another group could be seated. We weren’t upset and kindly moved to the folding table. All that waiting and that folding table wasn’t an option until we needed to move. We waited another hour for food. The food was classic bar fare. Our “bun” was a slice of sandwich bread. Nothing amazing, just simple fish fry. There are no good beers on tap, just four very basics. Hours of waiting and there was nothing about the experience that stood out. After all that I expected a thank you or free beer or some recognition our experience wasn’t typical for them, but nope. Our bills were full price and we waited for credit cards to be run. People are nice and obviously stressed but I...
