Mack's Pub and Grill — Restaurant in Town of Lawrence

We have been here many times. The owner is wonderful, and Casey, one of the chefs, is a top-notch guy!! Because of our previous amazing experience here, we invited some friends to check it out! There were maybe 7 or 8 customers upon our arrival, as it was a cold, snowy night. The server, whom we have had many times before, was EXTREMELY rude stating that even though they serve til 9 (it was only 8: 30) the cook, not Casey this time, had already cleaned the kitchen, so we better order fast!?!? Now, this gal had been our server many times before (when the owner was present), but this time she treated us like an annoying inconvenience?? Food was tasty, but again, this server set down our food, NEVER offered to even refill our drinks (we kept making trips up to the bar), never asked if we needed anything, and we were never checked on again while said server sat at the bar visiting with "friends" or regulars we assumed?? I was so totally embarrassed I brought my friends here and recommended it?? We live very close by, but won't be back any time soon, and most definitely will not be suggesting this establishment to anyone!! This gal needs some classes in customer service 101!! The cook actually brought us out some ranch because this useless server was not even aware we existed! I could understand if it was packed, they were short-staffed, or she was new/unfamiliar with the job, but there was no reason we were treated this poorly!! One of my favorite places when I'm at my company's plant in DePere. Always a warm welcome from the owners and staff, excellent food, good beer, and a fantastic informal atmosphere. There are many regulars here, and when I'm in town, I'm one of them. As soon as my friend and I walk-in, the owner knows to get a couple of Spotted Cows poured. Thursday night's are especially good as it is 50cent wing night! These, the excellent pizzas, and the atmosphere, keep drawing my friends back. Came over from Minnesota to see the Vikings/Packers game. After the game stopped at this place on our way home. I walked into this hometown bar wearing purple thinking after the beating the Vikes delivered to the Packers I may not be welcome. I couldn't have been more wrong. After some light ribbing the owner along with her patrons showed us unparalleled hospitality.
