Decided to try Cimaroli's for a birthday dinner from a short list that my partner gave me and I'm glad I did. From the service to the food everything was excellent. They dont do reservations it is first come first served here so if it's busy there might be a wait we were dining on a Tuesday and we got there at 5pm an hour after they open at 4pm so we were seated immediately. As they were taking us to our table we noticed they had a guitarist in the bar playing and there was also music playing in the restaurant but softly enough to not bother a conversation. Our server whose name was Colan I believe but I am very bad with names so sorry to him if that's not correct was there very quickly with the menus and to take our drink orders we decided on a Coke and a house Brandy old fashioned sweet. As we waited for the drinks we decided not to get an appetizer but to just go with dinner. When Colan returned we ordered, she decided to get the 10oz. Flat iron steak with a baked potato and the house salad with blue cheese dressing and I chose the full rack of ribs with the Italian potatoes and a bowl of vegetable beef soup. By the way the ribs are a Tues. Wed. Thurs. special. Our server brought our soup and salad which were both great she said the salad was cold and crisp and the dressing was very good with plenty of chunks of blue cheese in it my soup equally as good with a great beefy broth nice mix of veggies and several nice pieces of beef. Our entrees were brought out as we were finishing our soup and they were both excellent. Her flat iron steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and was tender and had great flavor i was told and the baked potato was perfectly baked. My ribs were outstanding with a very good sauce and cooked to fall off the bone tenderness which is what I like (Thank you Colan for the recommendation). If you like to fight with your ribs a bit these might not be for you but i dont so they were perfect. As we were finishing our entrees our server came over and as he was removing a couple of plates asked if we would be interested in dessert i said well I hadn't seen dessert on the menu he said oh yes they have dessert if I was interested he would bring the choices out to show us we were and he did. I will spoil it for anyone who hasn't been here and who might come and enjoy Cimaroli's but the choices were varied and all looked good I chose the chocolate cake with whipped cream and it was the perfect ending to a perfect birthday dinner. Thank you to my better half for the choices and for a great birthday meal. Thank you Colan and Cimaroli's for the great food and excellent service.

We are from Springfield, Missouri and we visited the Dells during the wek of July 10, 2021. Cimaroli's was recommended to us by a server at Mr. Pancake in the Dells. We wanted a steakhouse that didn't have inflated, tourist-trap prices, but that served a good steak. She gave a couple of selections in the Dells, but told us she always recommends Cimaroli's (and their flat iron steak), and no one is ever disappointed. We took her at her word and, despite a torrential thunderstorm that would turn back many travelers, we pressed on. And "pressed on," indeed. Through the downpour we traveled at 40 miles per hour, on a back country road, between tight cornfields on a shoulderless road. It would be 8 miles from the nearest intersection, GPS told us. But, as the miles clicked down, we finally came upon what looked like little more than a very nice house. Inside we were greeted by quite friendly folks at the door. We were, as would be expected on a night like this, seated immediately, and greeted just as quickly by a very pleasant server (Kristy; sorry if I spelled it wrong). Kristy offered us great drinks, and, of course, promoted the aforementioned flat iron steaks. We started with the delicious crab dip, which is shreded crab served on hot fried and buttered bread wafers. My wife and I each chose to take part in the flat irons (her a small and I chose a medium). I covered my juicy, perfectly done steak in mushrooms and caramelized onions (a few too many, but still deliciois), and my wife ordered her medium steak straight up. Though, we each added a side of shrimp (hers scampi, and mine lightly batter fried). For the kids, we ordered a shrimp scampi (for our daughter) and a tried and tested burger and fries (for our son). We were shocked when the dinner came out immediately after the apoetizer hit our table. Kristy apologized for the mess up, but we were so impressed with everything (the atmosphere is charming and the soft music from the lounge was entertaining and not intrusive) that we told her we thought of it more as good service! Dessert was a slice or three layer chocolate cake, a slice of Heath bar chocolate cake, a wedge of raspberry cheesecake, and a square of Tiramisu. All also quite good. We were all impressed with the food and service, and this would be a regular stop, if we didn't live 9 hours away (its not THAT good 😃). Thanks for a great night.

This was my 2nd time coming here. The first time here we also had a bad experience, but this was where my mom wanted to go for her birthday, so I obviously obliged. First off, let me say that the food was decent and the waitress did a good job. However even the most amazing meal and experience can be easy ruined by bad service at checkout. At Cimaroli’s you must pay at the register on your way out. This is where everything (again) went bad. I handed over the bill and the credit card. The first guy was having issues ringing us out, but didn’t care to explain, handed the bill to another girl, and decided to seat someone. The next girl also was having issues, so she decided to have an older lady help her. After being at the register now for over 5 minutes, I politely asked what the issue was. ā€œThe amount on the bill isn’t the same to what we are getting on the registerā€ is what I was told as they ran the credit card. Then the receipt is handed over and I see that I have been over charged significantly. I obviously say that the amount isn’t right and without any explanation the girl and older woman just say, well that’s what comes up in the register. Ok, so explain to me why you jack up the price when I come to the register. ā€œWell, our calculators sometimes don’t add up right.ā€ Ok, that’s the worst excuse I’ve ever heard… how about you ask the waitress why I was given a bill that has listed all our meals correctly and has a total amount circled at the bottom. I couldn’t see that this wasn’t getting anywhere as they continued to treat me like an idiot, so I simply say ā€œI was handed a bill for $134, I am baying a bill for $134 unless you can explain otherwiseā€. She then asked ā€œOk, so do you want money back?ā€ I said yes, If I’m handed a bill for $134 I’m not paying a jacked up price without any explanation. The difference was settled, but my meal and experience was destroyed a 2nd time.

Ok, so why did my 1st experience here go bad? Well, it was busy and our buzzer hadn’t gone off for a long time. We continued to watch other groups of all different sizes get sat before us. I was a manger myself at a similar restaurant and know mistakes can happen, so I simply went to the desk and explained the situation. I was told that they called us several times, but we never came (our name was even crossed out on the list). Here’s the issue though, how can 7 of us standing/sitting in the lobby and 2 at the bar never hear our name called or notice the buzzer? Whatever, let’s eat. Again the meals were decent and the service by the waitress was good. Now time to checkout…. It was still busy. I was behind 3 people waiting to pay their bill. The 3 people paid their bills and I was next… but for some reason 2 people walk up beside me to pay their bills. The same old lady looked up after cashing the last person out and I politely went to hand my credit card/bill to her. You would have thought I was being a complete jerk the way she looked at me and then said ā€œUmm you can just wait your turn!ā€ To which I said, well I have been waiting and these two people next to me had just walked up. She didn’t care, she cashed both of them out first then continued to give me an attitude saying I need to be more patient! First off I was not only patient to get in, but I waited in the proper line to pay and was treated like a second rate citizen when it finally came time for me to pay. Anyway, 15 minutes it took to pay the bill and again my experience was ruined.

I will never come back to this place again!

I highly recommend avoiding this place and going to The Dell Bar. They never disappoint and make this place look...

The first time we were there the food was just ok but

the service was awful, and when we revived the bill we had gotten someone else’s bill. The bill we received was well over a hundred dollars more than ours so when I said sorry we got the wrong bill instead of looking into the issue the women checking us out tried to say that it was correct, I had to ask her several times to ask the waitress to clarify. Finally we paid the correct amount after the waitress verified she messed up and gave us the wrong bill. The second time we were there we were told the wait was an hour for a regular table, we waited and waited for a table, at least with it being summer we could sit by the bar cart in the back and grab some drinks and appetizers. We were told wait staff would take our order for appetizers, we were ignored for over 45 min and had to wave staff down to take our order for appetizers. When our apps came they were the wrong food. We told staff we got the wrong food and they literally told me ā€œok what should we do about itā€. I had to tell them ā€œtake it back to the kitchen and let them know we got the wrong orderā€, I just got blank stares, like I was crazy, I had to tell them over and over that’s not we ordered and you brought this so can we get what we ordered, I had to explain a few more time that what they brought was not what we ordered it was big deal to them and they just sat there the two servers looked at each other like I was crazy again I had to tell them it’s the wrong order- they did not want to get me the correct one, they brought the wrong appetizer a second time so we just ate it because we had now waited over 90 min, still no seat to eat in regular dinning 2 hours in someone comes and asks if we still want a regular table…. Um yes we have waited patiently for two hours and are hungry , a worker came over and said there was an opening in regular dinning and they would seat us in a min, our little pager didn’t go off but she took it from us. Several other couples were seated before us that got there after us. We then sat for another half hour and no one came back to take us to our regular seats so we cashed out at the bar cart and left. Both times we were there once seated ( this time we seated ourselves at the bar cart), wait staff acted like we were an inconvenience and not wanted there. The bar tender was a complete b*tch when I ordered our drinks, rolling her eyes, slamming stuff around while she made our drinks and swearing a bit. We will not going back. Too bad we typically tip at least 40% and are loyal customers where we are...
