I had a 12 pm tee time, booked thru Golfnow. I apparently was paired with another group of golfers, as I was a single. I was given my cart key and proceeded to the 1st teebox. I met a gentleman at the tee box and teed off at 12:03pm. As I parked my cart on the 1st fairway to begin to take my 2nd shot, the person,an older gentleman, that was at the proshop counter came down the fairway, in a cart and proceeded to yell at me for teeing off with the wrong group. He Immediately took my cart key and told me to walk the rest of the way. Not only was he rude, he offered no apologizes for any confusion or any offer to correct his mistake for his tee pairing, as the group I apparently was paired with, was not ready for the tee time and at the driving range and practice green. I should note that the course was empty, with no other groups within several holes. I will no longer do business at this course. I found out that the person at the proshop was 1/3 owner as I spoke to his sister, when I complained at the snack shed at the 9th hole turn. She was apologetic but the damage had been done. These folks lost out on a season membership that I was thinking of purchasing as well as a corporate outing that I was planning for. I will take my business elsewhere and will make certain that other golfers know and understand that the the owners of the course are not easy to deal with and not happy with Golfnow or anyone who books a tee time with golf now. A sad shame because Golfnow makes it convenient for folks who just dont have time to call in advance for tee time availability. Regardless of how you book or pay for your tee time, we are all paying customers and should be treated the same as anyone else who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have played this course for the last 30 years. I remember when they opened the Oaks course and remade The Pines. This year I played both courses back to back days. I know we have been low on rain, but the oaks was hard a concrete. Needed a hammer for the tee boxes. The rough was rock hard and brown. Ponds were all full though. Bunkers were unplayable. Greens were ok. Fairways were ok. Rough was in bad shape (itās rough but if you play golf you get where Iām going hopefully). Like run the sprinklers in the morning, please.
The pines played almost the same way.
The signs were destroyed, the course has material right next to some tee boxes as an eye sore.
Iāve turned a blind eye for years from nostalgia, but itās really in bad shape. Itās rough to come back year after year to the same crappy carts, and driving on destroyed car paths and fairways to see a course thatās been a big part of my life falling apart. Thereās almost no way to drive smooth over this course certain spots are so bad. This year the driving range wasnāt even open for practice or warm up.
Club house is still really nice, and they finally took down the old eye sore club house they let time forget.
Hope they can manage to sell it before itās too much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have golfed Lima CC many times over the years and more so this year. I enjoy golfing Island Oaks so much that I choose to overlook some of its flaws. Iām sorry but I just canāt continue to do this. The cart paths are horrendous and there are mountains of stone on site. The stairways to tee boxes are overgrown to the point a path is worn next to it as you canāt climb the stairs. Today at every hole the garbage cans were overflowing onto the tee boxes and thereās a broken down golf cart missing a wheel in the parking lot. I understand that the course is for sale and has been for a while. You might have better luck finding a buyer if you improve the product youāre selling. Itās unfortunate because the clubhouse is so beautiful and Island Oaks is just a little TLC away from being one of the better courses in the area In my opinion. I really hope you try and improve...
