I have always absolutely loved this cafe. I previously have been a regular however Iâm not in Lima very much anymore so my frequency has changed. I just wanted to share my experience from a couple of days ago. On Friday June 13th, I stopped in on my lunch break to get coffee and pastries for my coworker and I. Upon ordering, although I recall ordering iced coffee, I evidently did not specify, and the barista didnât ask me. The barista taking my order also looked quite unhappy. They were not busy, upon arrival there were two people other than us and after I ordered, the prior two left and there was a group of four who had just come in and ordered. They were not busy. I was handed two hot coffees, so I politely mentioned that I meant to order iced. The baristas started remaking them, and I thanked them. However, in the process, the two of them started making comments about me and talking about the experience in an inappropriate manner. The back and forth comments consisted of, âDid you ask if it was meant to be hot or iced?â, âNo, but I shouldnât have toâ, âThey shouldâve specifiedâ, âIf you donât order right, you donât deserve your order rightâ, âThis is such a waste of timeâ, word for word. This continued for a few minutes and was their only topic of conversation until I was handed the two coffees. Upon leaving, I reminded them that their words can be heard by customers. I worked in service for three years and although sometimes Iâd get upset by customers when I was treated poorly, I would have never deliberately made a customer who was kind and polite feel the way they made me feel this day. I was incredibly disappointed and upset to be talked down by two baristas at a cafe I normally love. I do not at all foresee...
Read morekinda like being seen at starbucks when there is no starbucks around, walk in and it is full of women -- ok -- there is a couch to the left and rest of area is taken by tables. a few had chairs available - (two people - four chairs) there was one guy dealing with tables and cash register. From the door to the cash reg it is 20 ft at most, the couch to the left takes up 1st 10ft square and then there is a cooler and several coffee displays etc, to the right were several tables, (5 maybe 6) all filled with two or 3 people . i was not sure how to approach but did go to cash reg. and asked about seating. the guy suggested i pick a seat - there were no other males in the place - so lets create a situation that can get on air --- right!! let it be known i have in the past asked if i might share a table but not in this case - no way in h*.told him i would like to order to go. I was presented with a menue which was very very limited in selections but not so much in the prices. an egg/cheese on an english muffin 6 dol. - i ordered two another lady ordered lox - 13 dol. -- she was less then impressed (her statement not speculation) as soon as you order he punches in your order ------ now mind you, small ordered of this caliper generally do not require a signature but he spins the card unit around for signature and there it is --- tip options 15-20-25- what has he done done this tip --- spun the pay screen around--- period . they clearly rely on pressure - ---- as for the sandwich -- pretty good - worth 6+ not really -- will i return...
Read moreWanted to love it. Wanted to have a new spot. What I got is hands down the worst, most watered down iced chai Iâve ever had. There is no flavor. Nothing redeeming about this. Beautiful atmosphere, and Iâm sure theyâll do fine⌠but wow. Totally donât know how to make an iced chai.
In response to the owner: I think the bigger issue is that I didnât (and donât) feel comfortable going back and asking for a correction. Youâre right, the worker was young â but itâs not my place to try and tell them how to do their job, and there was no way for me to know if they made an error, or this is just how your cafe puts an individual twist on iced chai.
Also, as someone who recognizes that we are still in the midst of a pandemic, I had already spent more time than I was comfortable with in an environment where I was the only masked person. There were a lot of people in the shop, including employees, and very little ventilation. When employees choose to unmask when working around food, it makes me question what other safety measures they see as unnecessary due to discomfort.
You canât please everyone all of the time. Iâm sorry we are not a good fit, but I am sure that youâll do fine â thereâs probably not a ton of other people who are sticklers about masks and iced chai in the area đ Your response was lovely and a sign of good business practices, and I truly wish...
