I called at 9:04 pm on a Saturday night to see if they 1. Still had prime rib 2. Would still serve us. Their answer? "As long as you place your order before 9:30." They weren't kidding! We walked into a single musician singing great music and sat at the bar. They took our order, served us and were great about it. I'm not proud to be that guy that orders last minute (I owned a bar, yes, I know better, haha), but we appreciate a place that stands up to their hours... and our wait staff earned the 30% tip! It was great bar meets supper club food, with quite a few homemade items. The prime was a SLAB and cooked correctly, handcut chips with homemade cream cheese French onion sip was fantastic. Pictured is the sweet potato fries option. Excited to go back and try the wings and homemade chicken pot pie! And can't argue with the northern WI bar vibe, complete with a rotating Hamm's sign! P.S. they have the GOOD cherries for drinks!

Second time here and won't be back. Server never came to check on us to find out that my very obviously burnt patty melt was not good. Besides being burnt, it was completely void of seasoning, as was my husband's Shrimp Alfredo. When told about the Tuesday's Alfredo special, a choice of chicken or shrimp was given (no mention of the $4.75 for chicken or $9.95 upcharge), so $23.90 for 6 fishy smelling shrimp and flavorless fettuccine Alfredo. I appreciate the bartender taking my meal off our tab when he finally asked about the food. I should have known better to not come back after the first time getting chicken fried steak with boxed mashed potatoes and canned green beans. At least the bartender was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. It would be a good place to go for drinks still, I suppose.

It's always good there! Dad keeps saying they're menu could be used for darts and you'll never land on something bad! And there staff is very capable of dealing with my chaotic family. We spilled three drinks in one night and the server never missed a beat! Also there's a great drink there, I think it's called a Jim Bean Old Fashion. I love it! My sisters fell in love with it too! Go there. Like are you really in the North Woods if you don't go to Lumpy's at least once.

I took my 70 year old Mother to Lumpy's last night for fish fry after she raved about how good it was the last time she was there a couple weeks ago with my sister for lunch. We were seated right away at a table but we were immediately overwhelmed by the smell of urine that my Mom said smelled like the nursing home she used to work at and we immediately left. Her sense of smell isn't that great so when she smelled it too I knew it wasn't just me. At first I thought it was just the smell of fish but quickly realized it wasn't. I don't know how anyone could eat in the presence of such an awful aroma. My mom said it didn't smell like that the last time she was there so maybe there was someone dining near us with a full diaper she said. We decided to grab a pizza from the grocery store and eat at her place instead. Restaurants up here can be really good or really bad and it's usually the food or service that makes or breaks them. We didn't get a chance to experience either unfortunately. It's probably better than McDonald's tho. We're going to give it another shot in a couple weeks when we go out to eat for my birthday and if it doesn't smell like a Slovakian bathroom with a urinal through, which I experienced firsthand while visiting there, I'll update my review...

Wish I had read reviews before going for a “quick” burger at Lumpys. 4 of us got seated quickly at 6:50. That’s essentially the only good thing I have to say about Lumpys. Customer Service is not their priority. We waited 15 minutes before we even saw our waitress , then another 10 to order our drinks and water. She gave us a pitcher of water and 4 glasses. Here, I’m busy, pour your own.? Still no silverware, no name to our waitress. 1 hr after sitting, we got our food. When We got our food, 1 order was wrong, so she brought out lettuce and onion in a bowl to build our own burger. She missed the part that it was supposed to be a bacon cheeseburger, but it had neither, just a patty in a bun. Our wrap had plastic wrap in it. Our waitress indicated she was sorry and would take them off the bill only to have the manager want to bill us for the burger if we waited another 20 minutes. Nope. What we heard as we walked out the door was “next time we should just eat at home” from the manager. I’m in agreement...
