So- I wasn't going to do this review, but on second thought I thought I'd let you fine folks know a little something HERE!!! I haven't bar tended in ten years----but i went into Zenda Tap---on a whim--- (after stopping at Linn Township to help a friend pay a traffic ticket in early August) I was immediately offered a job bar tending----without even being asked if i had ever done it----or even knowing my name for that matter---& well, it kind of came at a better time. The elderly man I was caring for went into the hospital and my services were going to be no longer needed. So....I filled out the APP. (thinkingto myself that they must really be desperate...& that.the UNIVERSE couldn't have given me this opportunity at a better time!)😊 The owners are out of town a lot so my first week essentially i was haphazardly trained by the manager (*who had only been there 2 weeks BTW) and we were incredibly busy so i can't BLAME anyone for shoddy training EXACTLY---and i adapt and overcome quickly---so i was just doing my best.
Finally I get a day of training with both the husband and wife Duo who are the owners of Zenda tap. They first told me when I walked in the door that they saw me stealing hundreds of dollars on camera last night. First off-Im not a thief---so i assumed we would clear up the matter at hand.
Nope. They made me dumpster dive and dig through bar trash for paperwork i threw away after re- copying it the night prior. (bc i wanted it to be neat and ledgible---and the original wasn't too neat) so I obliged Lenore--- turn by the grace of God found my old paper.... where in which the numbers matched exactly to my paperwork and I had recopied put in a lock box with all the other paperwork that's necessary for a shift at a bar. Needless to say, there was $198 I had forgotten to put in my bag with my paperwork and my other things in the lock box I had already locked up the lock box with everything but that cash. My mistake, we were busy, so I counted out the 19850, turned around to Lenoir who is getting drunk Westin patrons at the bar and to let her know I forgot to put that money in the bag. So I did so. My mistake was not telling Kim, the next bartender who took over for me, for night shift, that she needed to recount the drawer because I had taken the 198.50 out for my money bag. So money still in owners pockets....and one number needing changed on some paperwork. Simple mistake right? Nope. Josè the owner (who doesn't even know how to do the paperwork)told me that I would be needing to pay it all back out of my salary, which mind you is $7 per hour+tips......i cried. I worked for FREE that day--- and intended to keep my job and be trained RIGHT by these 2--I need the money and whatnot...but it got me thinking. And digging. Turns out that money wasn't in the bag. The manager knows how to fppl. OVER professionally. She hires random patsys to take the blame...while she robs the till. Ps. There is no camera on where they lock up the money????? In a first aid kit??? Other than that sht show.....that I endured.....the bar is decent the back patio is amazing....literally gorgeous.....
But probably don't eat there....unless ur just drunk and have to eat it off. 😆 they re use Ziploc bags that had meat in them for other foods.
Unsanitary. But for bar food it's decent. I'm still...
Read moreI am writing to share a serious concern regarding a recent experience with this particular business. Unfortunately, the behavior exhibited by the owners was highly inappropriate and troubling.
During our interaction, the owners appeared intoxicated and displayed racist attitudes, even directing offensive remarks towards their own Hispanic community. The owner was verbally aggressive towards us and our friends. Additionally, there was an incident involving the owner's wife, which seemed to escalate the situation further. It was also reported that they drove under the influence and were involved in a vehicle crash.
Given these events, I strongly advise caution and recommend not conducting business with these individuals due to their dangerous and...
Read moreThe first time we tried to go here they were closed, not a big deal. Thought we’d try it again…. When we walked in we were welcomed with a random person harassing us for an Id (was not behind the bar nor at the door). Sat at the bar for a few minutes admiring the liquor selection without being greeted or acknowledged. Bartender finally looked at us and we thought we’d be greeted but she continued to walk past us and stock the beer. After 15 minutes we decided they didn’t want our...
