Matteson Hotel — Restaurant in Town of Litchfield

Honestly, food was very bland. Kids just had chicken tenders & fries. The burger was said to be decent. I had the steak wrap with peppers, onions, mushrooms. I expected flavor from the sautéed vegetables, but nothing! I had to ask for A1 sauce for some kind of flavor. I was surprised, as last time we went with friends we had thought the wings were pretty good. Although I will admit we were drinking so now I wish I ordered them. Haha. Waitress never told us of any specials or desserts. Other than that, service was great from her and the gentlemanthat brought our food & checked if we needed anything. Obviously we know it's not her fault how the food came out so she still recieved a great tip.

We brought many items for their trip to help the victims in NC from recent storms and flooding. I plan to bring down more non-food items now. What a fantastic thing. I am so happy to see they're having a great turn out. Our world should be united and help others in need when...

They start serving their Friday night Prime rib at 4:30pm. Twice now I've showed up a 6pm....dinner time, and they were sold out. The owner who normally is very nice and cordial told me that if I'm not happy about it then to bad so sad, go somewhere else. Needless to say she doesn't need my buisness and I won't be going back after being treated like that. A past loyal customer. Clarence Penree

PS: update....Thank you Christine for telling me to go somewhere else for Prime Rib. Scenic Veiw Campground, just down the street in West Winfield, has Saturday night Prime Rib. Cheaper than yours, bigger portions, and no issue with them running out. And I should mention they have a very inviting and friendly armosphere.Hope I helped solve your problem of being overwhelmed on Friday...

I go there for the occasional modern country band on the weekends. Greatly improved facility in just the last couple years. Their efforts are very evident. Commendable! Bartenders are second to none and I like to tip them well. Friendly country atmosphere. (Only suggestion is for bathrooms (men's room) to be tended to a little better and also hand soap stocked.) Overall establishment is really good with a great dance floor. Intend to dine there soon. So good to see the old...
