My wife Jana and I had the pleasure of visiting Luigi's Italian Specialties on Thursday March 19, 2020. While we have driven past it countless numbers of times, we had never stopped, though we had talked about it often. Luigi's sits back a bit off of Route 299, on the left hand side, not far at all from 9W, only 2 or three minutes, going toward New Paltz. While looks can be very deceiving from the road, this is an absolute must from the true lovers of, Authentic Old World Italian Specialties. For those familiar with the famous " Arthur Ave " in the Bronx......its here. We met Maria, who prepared one of the best Mixed Italian Specialtie Sub I've ever had, let Maria make it her way, with fresh pesto, the roasted peppers, and only thier authentic imported Italian cold cuts, and she'll top it off with fresh Arugula, on real Italian Bread. My wife had an Italian Wedding Soup that was amazing, and we took a few slices of thier homemade pizza to go for later. They also have homemade gourmet olive oils to sample that are amazing, fresh pasta and various homemade sauces, along with pickled Eggplant, and much more. The topper are the homemade mini pastries that Maria makes fresh daily, which we took a dozen. Totally worth the little ride, and now with having to do curbside, it's a great time to go visit and have a look at an Old World Italian Deli......by the way, Italian breakfast sandwiches are served all day long. Tell Maria, Scott sent you....Monge !

Here is a bit of a largely undiscovered treasure, just a couple of minutes east of overrun New Paltz on route 299. Luigiā€˜s Italian deli and pizza offers indoor and outdoor seating. Choose from a selection of regular deli sandwiches or traditional Italian specialties. My pastrami sandwich was delicious and the dry sausage I took home can only be compared with ones I experienced years ago in Italy. I will have to return to try their infused olive oils and other Italian goodies.

A lovely place and convenient drive through. The staff are very pleasant to deal with. The Italian can I is truly the best I’ve had in ages, packed with flavor. The meatball parm is quite traditional. It’s meatball then sauce then cheese. It does bring out the flavors in the meatball and I do enjoy a traditional spin on dishes that usually tend to be over saturated with.Ʊ sauce. I’ll certainly be back to try some of their other dishes.

this is the worst cheesecake i have ever had. who the hell makes cheesecake like this. firstly, theres a complete lack of taste. im pretty sure the entire thing is just gelatin, because thats all i can taste. gelatin makes me sick; this was advertised as cheese cake. that was not cheese cake

it was not a lemon square, it was cheesecake shaped- and no, a lemon square should not smell bad, taste like nothing, and make me horrifically ill either.

it smelled (according to my mother, i cannot smell), it tasted like nothing, the crust was mushy, and its made me really ill since ive eaten it (didnt even eat half of it). genuinely the worst food poisoning ive had in a while.

UPDATE- 2-5am hospital trip for an allergic reaction. safe to say i will NOT be eating anything from...

I never give reviews, but Luigi’s is too good to keep to myself. Hands down the best & most authentic deli in the area! I moved here from Queens a year ago (also lived in Brooklyn & the Bronx for a few years - so I know good food) and refused to patronize the other places in the area after many disappointments. Luigi’s is on the money! We ordered: ham & provolone on ciabatta, a foccacia slice, rice ball, ricotta cheesecake, some cake bites + dry pasta and chicken cacciatore sauce (can’t wait to make this...
