Full disclosure: I have worked here since June 2021. I've worked at 15+ restaurants over the last 35 years and the Long View is at the top of my list for consistent quality, fresh ingredients and value. The relatively small menu (usually only 6-7 entree options plus 10-12 appetizers, soups, salads, etc) changes daily and depends heavily on seasonal ingredients. The chef and co-owner (Ben) is amazing and the other owners (brothers Nate and Matt) are a big part of the day-to-day operations, running the whole show, from lodging to dining, from general maintenance to the bar offerings.    Read moreI made a reservation at 6:30 pm the previous evening. The proprietor's reservation company neglected to alert him that a reservation was made. Clearly a staff that cares about their reputation and how people think about them. Deeply courteous and kind and understanding. The room I stayed in (double queen) was spacious enough with its own thermostat, sizable bathroom, and closet. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. The common areas are well maintained and clean, even when not in...

-The pasta on the side was just that: plain cooked pasta. No sauce, no flavoring, not even any salt added, just bland noodles.
-The asparagus was boiled or possibly over-steamed, totally limp, and again totally devoid of any sort of seasoning or flavor besides that of boiled asparagus. Blech.
-The main part of the meal was a soggy, multi-layered mess; the only flavors were parmesan cheese, marinara sauce and wet overcooked eggplant.
It was just inexplicably bad, as if they forgot the part of cooking where you add flavor to the raw ingredients. I've gotten better food at a gas station, and for far cheaper. Avoid this place...
