I know this place has some smoking reviews but I feel compelled to share my experience . This place was highly recommended by friends and we were eagerly looking forward to our meal As soon as we walked in ,the waitress told us they were expecting a group of 24, we were seated at a table that was barely big enough for one let alone two. When our drinks arrived my beer was almost flat. It took a bit, but when I flagged the waitress down she was nice enough to get me another, unfortunately this one was the same. Knowing the food was supposed to be very good, we decided to let this go along with the small table. We ordered perogies which were very good. We both ordered a different type of schnitzel, while the taste was good , mine was tough as nails, my wife’s was acceptable but barely . The other items on the plate was very good but they really messed up on the schnitzel and I didn’t go there to fill up on potatoes. We overheard the waitresses taking about the group of 24 several times and couldn’t understand why, there was three waitresses. Our meal was very rushed and start to finish was probably 25 minutes, again because of the group of 24. Not once during our meal did the waitress come over to see if everything was ok and when I informed her how tough the schnitzels were, (and we only ate half each,) there was no offer of a replacement or discount mentioned. Long story short, I don’t think I’ll be going back. I sure hope those three waitresses could handle that...
Read moreIt's a unique place with food from Burgers and wings to Steaks and Escargot. The setting as far as furniture goes is like from the 60's 70's, clean but oldschool vibe. The bar is decent size with great bartenders. The small building on the same property right by the restaurant is the Cigar Lounge and there's outdoor seating for dinner, drinks and cigars. The staff from the chefs, bartenders and cigar aficionado his name is Phil or Chill with Phil as we call him makes this place unique and it's priced right, you won't go broke, it's a place to come hangout by yourself or bring the family and better yet bring friends,,, there's cornhole games outside, the property is huge with seats in the backyard to hangout by the stream and listen to the stream flow while hanging out enjoying what nature has to offer ! Not many establishments like this to go have dinner, have a drink and smoke cigars. There's firepits. They also host movie nights, sip and paint, pig roast. I can go on and on but I think you get the point,,, I highly recommend this establishment and if you have a little too much to drink there's rooms upstairs to stay in for a fee ofcourse and long as they're empty cause it is a Air B&B.
Check this place out, you'll thank me...
Read moreMy wife and I got an unfriendly vibe from this place, and the food wasn't great either. We went for lunch on a slow, off-season Sunday and entered through the small bar area where there were just a couple of people seated. The woman behind the bar, who we believe was one of the owners, and who definitely saw us come in, didn't greet us or direct us into the dining room even though we walked right past her. (She also ignored us when we left. What does it take, really?) On the food side, we ordered burgers, which are advertised on the menu as Wagyu beef, a premium beef that's supposed to have superior flavor, but they didn't taste like anything special. They were also overcooked. The cheese appeared to be American cheese, and the buns were supermarket grade, and untoasted. On the plus side, the fries were delicious. While the food was disappointing, the lack of hospitality was the kicker. It made us feel unwelcome, and spoiled our experience. For a small, local restaurant, there's just no excuse, especially considering the place was practically empty,. We won't...
