Sally Port View — Restaurant in Town of Lyme

After driving past this beautiful place a few times over the past year my gf and I decided to stop in and check it out. Sally Point View is a beautiful venue the building is amazing and clean. It is located right on the lake and it appears to be absolute perfection. The problem is that I went there yesterday with my gf. We walked in behind an older couple who I appeared to be connecting with friends. We all walked in at the same moment and the bartender instantly greeted them, gave them drink/food menus and completely ignored us. He didn't even say "hello" or "I'll be with you in a moment" I felt very uncomfortable so we left without the bartender even acknowledging our presence. So we left and we went to another local establishment. Poor service excluded I have to say that this place has amazing potential and I hope that this was just an oversight or a bad night. I had the opportunity to visit Sally Port View twice in one week. The first time was for a lovely catered luncheon for about 70. The room was spacious, immaculate, with a beautiful breeze and View. It was easy to move from table to table and visit, the open accordian glass doors allowed the gentle lake breeze to keep the room cool. The built in sound system was great for guest speakers, who could be easily heard in any place in the room. The 2nd time I went was for a jazz band concert. Again the spacious room allowed for both audience and table seating. This time I sampled the SPV pizza, it was delicious. Not a standard round pie, but I loved the crust, the perfect amount of cheese and the tomatoes sauce with the perfect blend of spices. The bar was available at both events, but I only had water. BREATHTAKING views at Sally Port 😍 The architecture from the inside out is absolutely stunning. The staff has your best interest at heart when helping prepare for events. They are kind, organized and there to give a warm welcome to ensure you and your guests have a great time. They have an eye for detail and the cleanliness is spot on. You won’t feel like you have to sanitize after using the restrooms. (Although, definitely wash your hands after using 😂) This is a family business ran by LOCALS.
