The Shillelagh — Restaurant in Town of Manitowish Waters

Went on my lunch break which is an hour long figured I'd go get a cup of soup and a burger I work outside all day year round keep that in mind. There was also me nd 5 other people in there 3 of which were already eating. It took the bartender a solid 5 minutes to get me menu when that's the first thing I asked for when sitting down besides my Sprite. Then took her forever to even take my order I got there at 12 on the dot and at this point it was already 20after so I ordered a RARE cheeseburger and a cup of soup didnt get my soup until 15 minutes later (even brought me out the wrong one) THEN the two gentleman next to ordered one of which I heard specifically order a WELL DONE patty melt. Finally at 1245 they have their food already and yet i domt have mine. The bartender asked if I got my food ready keep in mind she was the one serving so she apparently she forgot if she brought mine out even tho I had nothing in front of me yet proceeded to tell her no I dont she went in back came back again without it then I wait another 5min and she asks if I just want it to go well! Absolutely furious at this point I just say no and leave of course I dont want a burger that is supposed to be rare to sit in the cold work truck for rest of the day then have to microwave it when I get back to my hotel just for it to no longer be rare anymore! Horrible service zero people skills but the soup was delicious even tho it wasn't even hot, at least i got a somewhat warm appetizer for my lunch tho right? Will not be going back there for lunch ever again and possibly not even for dinner when I do have more time ruined my first time experience and my lunch for a guy who works outside all damn day long! Not a happy person going back to work today to...

Stopped in after a day at the lake for a quick bite. Ordered a tuna melt. There was no cheese on it. I mentioned it and the server responded "the cheese is on the bottom" after she asked away i took a fork and moved the tuna...still no cheese. I was starving so I used it as dip for my chips and then noted again to the server, there was no cheese on the tuna melt. She went back to the kitchen and reported back to me the the cook melts the cheese in either the tuna. I am not an idiot and don't appreciate being treated like one! I live in WI, am a big cheesehead and know when cheese is in something or not. And in the meantime while my husband is finishing his food while I am taking the time to write this review, I was handed a bill, rather than asked if I would like another beverage! They just want to push me out the door while it's not even...

Nice, clean and unique place, great tap beer selection, and owners who make you feel like a friend.

We arrived by sled late in the afternoon on a Tuesday. Never been there before and we had time to kill so we stopped. One of our group noticed he was low on coolant, and upon entering he asked one of the gentlemen behind the bar if he had any antifreeze for sale.. The answer was no, so we ordered drinks. 5min later the man(who we learned to be the owner) exited the back room wearing his jacket, telling us that he was running to town and would return with coolant for us.

We were pleasantly shocked.

The owner took it upon himself to help a customer without being asked, and that is why this place we've never frequented before will become a destination on our next trips.

The atmosphere is neat, Irish decor and lots of windows....
