The Way Station Saloon and Eatery — Restaurant in Town of Marion

Food was OK, burger was a burger, nothing special. Fries were very good from what I got of them. 2 of the burgers we ordered we made into baskets. $3 extra to do a basket which includes about 8-10 fries and a sample cup of cottage cheese with about 2 spoonfuls in it. Waitress asked do you want lettuce, tomatoes and onions which I replied just tomatoes and lettuce. Burger came with onion anyway and a bill with $1 lettuce, $1 onion and $1 tomatoe.

When I let the waitress know I had no idea it would be a dollar for each of those and I didn't ask for onion she left and returned telling me she had taken off the dollar for the onion but that I had asked for all of them and if someone's offering something to you it is always an up charge.

I don't know about you but in my 40 years of going to restaurants I've never been charged for lettuce and tomato on a burger not to mention a dollar each for one slice of tomato and iceberg lettuce. Also I haven't been charged $3 extra for something without being told there's an extra charge when it is offered to me without me asking for it.

On top of all that when I got the corrected bill she had charged me ANOTHER dollar instead of taking it off and I couldn't get her to come back over as she was now avoiding our table. Left not wanting to waste anymore time haggling over my $14...

I actually stopped here by chance. My vehicle blew a radiator hose and I was able to back road it to their parking lot to stay off the road. I went in to ask about parking my truck in their parking lot out of the way while I waited for someone to bring me the hose and the bartender was very friendly and had no problem with it. Even asked if I needed information for the area if I needed it towed or anything. My parents ate their since I interrupted their night to go out for fish and instead ate there and said the food was great and they would definitely be back. Who knew a chance breakdown would offer such friendly service and returning new customers. Amazing...

We have lived by here for the last 10 years and we went there alot to eat which was great! But the last few years have been horrible rude bartenders and really horrible food. Plus they more pricey. I keep going back hoping it would change at least the food wise but nope went there tonight and food was so bad I couldn't even chew my bacon! Kids ordered mini corn dogs they were over cooked. Needless to say I skipped dinner tonight. Thanks for nothing. Cook didn't even apologize just took it away! Wow way to...
