After a very long and harrowing day, many hours on the road, it was dark and in the middle of nowhere I spotted a little place called "Crawfish Junction ". I am not the most adventurous gal when it comes to just eating at strange places but I was tired and very hungry. So we stopped and just said, " let's just do it'
What a wonderful little hidden gem in truly the middle of nowhere. Nothing fancy about this place. It was remarkably clean, quaint, ( even the tiny bathrooms were spotless.) The people who own and run this tasty hidden gem obviously take great pride and well deserved! I love to support a local place when they make down home goodness served by extremely friendly staff. I ordered the French Dip and Mashed potatoes, the potatoes were homemade and just perfect. My French Dip was tender, and tasty( more bread than I needed, I don't eat bread as a rule) however the hoagie was so fresh! Nothing was salty, it was refreshing to sit down and eat a good meal with the most reasonable prices! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich which was delicious, not slathered in BBQ sauce that covered the taste of the pork. It wasn't greasy, it was simply a delicious sandwich.
Bottom line: It is a cool Bar, the decor was fun and bright, very friendly and accommodating with perfect size meals and couldn't beat the price. I almost never finish a meal but I ate it all. They do some fun events I was reading about, if I was ever out in that part of the world again I'd definitely be back ( I saved the information)
Highly recommended this place. If anyone is in that area it is worth going a little out of your way to stop in for a completely satisfying late night meal.
Thanks #CrawfishJunction!...
Read moreWent there last night for the first time because of recommendations and these reviews. Not sure what the hype is all about. 1). Very crammed and packed. 2). The service was not the best either. Our waitress was so busy that she took 20 mins before she took our order and barely slowed down from her run around to talk to us. 3) we were put on a wait list and were told to be there in 45 mins and so we arrived at that time and were told we were next in line. 5 or 6 groups behind us were seated before us and I approached the hostess and she showed me the list and how they passed us a while ago because we only had 3 people and they wanted the bigger tables served first (more people=more money) and finally 4). The food was outrageously expensive for what you get. The quality was mediocre but the quantity was so little and the price was very expensive. We ordered cheese curds, and there weren't very many and didn't taste good. We ordered alligator and got about a handful of pieces for $12 I believe? And lastly, my son ordered a kid's meal of mini corn dogs with apples and it was embarrassing how little he got. He got 5 very very small mini corn dogs with 2 slices of apple. (And not a normal slice but more of a sliver) needless to say, he had to eat my meal. I can say I tried it but will...
Read moreI am sure some people can have a good meal and a great time at this restraunt/bar. My wife enjoyed her burger, and the kids ate what kids eat. However I tried their 8oz sirloin steak and it was terrible. I asked for medium as I normally do for steaks and it came out very well done and crispy on the outside. I then said screw it and tried the steak. The flavor of steak was replaced by grease. I sent it back. The shrimp I was assuming would also be larger for $7 bucks but I was mistaken. The shrimp was good after letting the greasy butter drip off for a moment. Also we had a miserable waitress, she did not give her name and did not even explain specials. Also when asked to refill a drink she did not seem very happy about getting you a refill and slammed the glass on the table when she returned, then for the third refill after sending my horrid meal back she neglected to give me a refill until everyone else was done with the meal. At the end of my family's meal I was given my bill and 18% gratuity was automatically added. I can see why they try and force you to pay the tip upfront. I did not include the gratuity to my bill for obvious reason and subtracted the gratuity from the end price. I just hope my bank will not charge the full price because it was no were...
