My wife and I love the Finger Lakes! We lived in the Finger Lakes for a few years right after we were married, and we have been coming back regularly almost every summer to enjoy the wineries and scenery.||||We have stayed at a number of places in the Finger Lakes, and for years we stayed at a nearby motel regularly. When it changed hands we were disappointed with the new operators and decided to find someplace else to stay. We have been to the winery here a few times, and we decided to try the Inn.||||To say our stay was beyond expectations is an understatement! We were blown away! The William Miles Suite was so perfect! Lots of room, comfortable bed and generous sitting area and bathroom! A great view of the lake, but most of all such wonderful peace and quiet! The gathering area which is shared by the other room was well stocked every day with wine, cheese, crackers and fruit as well as the continental breakfast that appeared in our personal refrigerator every day. It was almost magical when this all appeared because you never heard anyone tending it!||||We enjoyed the wine selections at the tasting as well and went home with a few bottles. We went to the boathouse which has a small bar, but we preferred to sit on the grounds and view the lake.||||We noticed a gentleman who seemed to be keeping track of things around the property, and while we were sitting on the patio we flagged him down and had a conversation with him! Doug is a great guy, and when he was telling me the history of the place and all kinds of interesting facts I finally figured out that he was the owner. My wife and I really enjoyed listening to him. Such a low keyed, down to earth guy with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Doug and Suzy (who made my reservations and did our tasting) were so accommodating and friendly that it really made us feel welcome and wanting to come back!||||I really didn't see any ghosts, but I think I felt the presence of them in the room one night. Maybe it was Doug's stories of his experiences that put the ideas in my head, but it sure felt like I was feeling some energy one night.||||Also a real plus for this place is you have to search for the TV! We didn't bother .. didn't need to!||||So, do you think I would recommend this place to you? I do, but don't pick the days I want to come back...

Read moreAs a service professional, I recommend you steer away from this place as it will most likely dissapoint considering the many wonderful wineries in the area.
The Lake view and historic house was what drew us in but at the expense of ruining your day and wasting your hard earned money is not worth in any way.
Detail if management is interested in bettering the experience for the guests:
On 4/9/24 we greeted coldly and off putting so I should have known from the start, our business is not welcome here.
Trying to pick a wine or liquor to enjoy by the lake, the lady at the counter seemed to have absymal knowledge and understanding of the product she pours or standard procedures or desire to help the customer choose something as plenty of cues were provided.
I mentioned I'd like to try a typical riesling. Each time when my question about the wine could not be answered, I was asked if I'd like a small taste. I was offered a teaspoon of a dry wine twice, both were off. I asked for a single taste pour of the raspberry liquor as I was very enthusiastic to purchase at least something to take home. As stated on the menu, it costs $10 - comparable to a full serving of a cordial in any restaurant in the country. I did that before committing to spend $54 on the bottle. This time the pour was not even a half ounce. Literally just a sip, could barely discern the light brown color, not a vibrant color expected for a raspberry liquor. Again, this is nowhere near the standard tasting size of 1 to 1.5 ounces per wine at a typical wine tasting anywhere in the world.
In the end, I asked for a glass serving of something to take outside. A 4 wine tasting is $10, a single taste is $4, a full glass $8. I was charged $38 for a skimpy beer sample flight which totalled no more than 2 oz, a plastic cup of white wine and 3 tiny sips which would not under no circumstances be called tastings or even sample. My partner paid the bill because we have education not to argue even as it made no sense at all and we clearly expressed dissatisfaction and mentioned that we will not be back. The disgraceful customer service really put a damper on our vacation. As professionals in the hospitality industry, I hope other people do not have the...
