Paoli Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Montrose

First time here, will NOT be the last! Walked in right as they opened up. The smell of bacon was great. The place was very clean as were the bathrooms.

There is an indoor and an outdoor seating area which makes this a great location. But the food....FANTASTIC! The menu was extensive but since they bragged about their burgers, I decided to try one and was not disappointed!

The burger was a 1/3 lb of pure beef. Not the store bought type already frozen in patties, but ground beef and formed! You could really TASTE the difference. The bacon on it was spot on flavorful and crisp. I ordered the PUB BURGER and had it done exactly how you order it! It is great to get a choice in how you like your hamburger done. The BBQ sauce was sweet but not over powering on the burger. It was added to one side of the burger (meaning 1/2) but not the otherside? It was like there was a line done the middle of the burger so 1/2 did have BBQ sauce, the other half did not. Onions I asked to have grilled but they came on it raw which was fine. Grilled onions would be better on this type of burger (personal preference but to compliment the sweet BBQ better).

I split a basket of waffle fries with my dining partner and glad we did as they were huge, thick, quite crispy and they stayed hot for a long time! I think we were down to the third from last waffle fry and it was still warm inside! Will definetely order again.

Partner had grilled chicken wrap and that too was very large, in fact we had to get a to go box for 1/2 wrap and 1/2 of a burger.

The waitress was attentive. We arrived though at 11am on the dot and they just opened. By 11:45, the place was beginning to fill up with what looked like a wedding rehearsal party and about 6 couples. A few couples decided to eat outside on the nice sunny day. Apparently, you can bring your dog to the outside patio which I will do next time.

Table tops were made to look like labels of different beverages which is cleaver fo this type of atmosphere. I can see why the locals, and soon to be non-local, will make this one of my go to places with visitors to the Verona/Paoli area! Wide variety of food choices, and almost daily lunch/dinner specials combined with todays great food we had make this a winners choice!

Been stopping here for over 2 years and this is the first time I’ve had their fish. Not because I didn’t want it till now…I had to work second…then third…and now first shift(kitchen closed by the time I got here). Wow, I have to say I have been missing out!!! This will be one of my go-to fish fry and, yes, I tried the bake and the fried. Love them both! This last time I ate the fried there, and I ordered the baked to go…needless to say…it was finished by midnight that same day. I can’t recall ever doing that at any eatery I’ve frequently visited! Everything on the plate suits my tastebuds! From the 3 different potatoes I’ve tried and to the tangy, sweet coleslaw! That is how I love my coleslaw!!! Tangy and sweet, not bland and buttery. So if U have that type of tastebuds…U’ve got to try it! Anyhow, two thumbs WAY up, and what can I say about the service? After working third shift for a long time and not having frequent stops like I once did…they still remember me! I feel the 💕 😂.

I stopped in here after an evening paddle on the Sugar River, and I am sure glad I did. The bartender who took our drink and food orders was friendly and efficient, and the outdoor seating in back was comfortable and quiet.

I ordered a 1/3 lb hamburger with pickles and onions and some waffle fries. Both were superb. The hamburger was thick and juicy, and the bun was a lighter type I like, toasted to perfection. The pickle chips were kosher deli style and very flavorful. The waffle fries were cooked exactly to the right level of crispiness without being too hard or brittle. I have trouble eating any type of fry if it is overcooked. If anything, I like mine under cooked and these were almost under cooked, but not quite. Perfect. The prices are pretty reasonable overall, and they do have free Wi-Fi - you just have to ask the waitstaff or bartender for the password.

I'll be coming back here again to try the breakfast some morning before or after...
