The Castaway on Phantom — Restaurant in Town of Mukwonago

Driving up and looking at the outside, we question if we should even go in because it’s pretty dirty looking, there’s a sign in the window that says “sorry we are open” that is kind of odd. We open the first door, and I noticed how filthy it was on the floor. Then we go inside and we were greeted by the bartender who told us just to pick anywhere to sit, sat by the window, and there was cobwebs and spiders all over the screen on the outside, looked up and cobwebs inside were hanging everywhere. Inside the light fixtures were cobwebs and bugs. I said to my husband what must the kitchen be like? We decided just to try the food and see and it was pretty good but the biggest turn off was how filthy it was to see cobwebs hanging and swinging because they had a big barn fan blowing and he could see cobwebs everywhere. We did not use the restroom, which I’m glad. Bartender was pleasant. I will say I will never go back to eat there. Outside had some plastic tables to sit at not very appealing. They could do a lot of work on the place-#1 CLEANING CLEANING CLEANING! Do something to make the outside more welcoming For people who come from being on the water put some money into the place! This was the fifth time coming to this bar.... throughout the couple years .. I really feel like it's going downhill. It definitely wasn't as bad as it was now.! I walked right in there and (it smelled).... Totally turned off.! At that point shurgged my nose and just didn't even care to be there anymore...but the friend wanted to stay. The bartender was blah. ! Didn't feel welcomed. Got my drink went right outside to the to the back patio. It was dirty..... Not kept up with.! Weeds all over. 2 empty beer cans laying on the ground Just judging from this I would definitely would not eat here....... The only good thing about this place is you can see the sunset while your sipping a drink. Other than that I had my last straw ..... Totally turned off went downhill dirty. Not clean.....I will not be returning. Sadly.... Sad because I really enjoyed my past hangouts here. But totally turned off. Won't...

Castaway was a great time! The staff was super friendly and made a consistent effort to check on us - probably the best service I've ever had. It's an interesting place, feels like a fusion of supper club, dive bar and has a vibe of a restaurant that sits on the shores of a lake. The food was great and the appetizer of cheese curds was massive. While it is a full service bar they don't have beers on tap and primarily serve cans/bottles of beer. In all honesty, you may not think of it being a great place by looking at the outside but trust me, you'll be treated great and have a fun time. They have live music on...
