If you love domestic beer, I mean have a heart for exploring all the subtle nuanced differences between Bud Light, Michelob Light and say PBR this place is heaven on earth. They did have one IPA on draft you know if you're into that sorta thing. pffffttt

Started our meal with Baked French Onion soup. A bit salty for my tastes. Every now and then you have to stop adding to the existing and start from scratch. The Broiled Haddock was lukewarm tho pretty nicely cooked. I suspect if it had been brought out promptly it would have been better. Others in our party were disappointed in the lack of heat in the Chicken Riggies. Something about if they wanted Ziti they would have ordered Ziti.

Finally don't sit next to the door if it's chilly out as a few of the servers apparently think it's ok to leave it open since they are coming right back in a few minutes.

Sadly potential unrealized.

In response.

Have your servers ask or suggest or explain the Riggies. Most customers aren't mind readers and I don't think there was anything on the menu about asking for heat. I can't remember a time when I had to specify the heat when ordering Riggies and I just had them at Taste of Syracuse. Maybe it's a local thing ? Wings sure, Riggies never to my knowledge.

All your wait staff has to do is close the door. Of all the stuff to push back on you might have wanted to leave this one alone ? Sorta reads like ""𝑀𝑒 π‘π‘Žπ‘›'𝑑 𝑏𝑒 π‘π‘œπ‘‘β„Žπ‘’π‘Ÿπ‘’π‘‘ π‘‘π‘œ π‘π‘™π‘œπ‘ π‘’ π‘‘β„Žπ‘’ π‘‘π‘œπ‘œπ‘Ÿ π‘ π‘œ π‘¦π‘œπ‘’ π‘ β„Žπ‘œπ‘’π‘™π‘‘ π‘šπ‘œπ‘£π‘’ π‘‘π‘œ π‘Žπ‘›π‘œπ‘‘β„Žπ‘’π‘Ÿ π‘‘π‘Žπ‘π‘™π‘’."" As an added benefit you might have fewer flies buzzing at the windows. I counted 6. Thought about naming them but they moved to quickly.

Regarding the beer list I meant no insult. It was meant as humor and to let people know that you are not catering to a craft beer clientele. In all honesty I have never seen so many domestic beers listed on a menu since Chucky Cheese closed. That said serve the beer you want and makes you money. Capitalism at it's best.

Since you asked I spent 10 years in the back of the house as broiler chef, prep and sous (tho we didn't call it that back then). I type these as a fun exercise. I don't really care who reads them and other than admitting that humor is subjective and not everyone has a sense of humor I stand by my words.

I will happily give you a call later this afternoon. Tried 3 times to speak with you. ...

We went out Friday night for dinner. It started out well. We managed to find half way decent parking spots at The Blue Canoe which is tough to do sometimes! Dad signed up for the fishing derby and we had a few drinks. So far so good! We had a little wait but it was enjoyable with our drinks and conversation. We got a table and we were on our way. One of the specials was Chicken Riggies, mom asked the waitress if they could make them absolutely not hot because dad just can't tolerate it and she said they sure could so that is what he ordered. Our food arrived and we started eating. He took two bites and we could see something wasn't right he said it was pretty spicy so mom tried a rigatoni and it really was hot! We called the waitress over and explained that this was spicy when we asked for no heat. She took them back and he ordered manicotti. The chef got his dinner out in record time and we were all set...never got his salad but it was not needed by then. We enjoyed our dinners and split a dessert. The waitress finally came over with the check and she was so uncomfortable because she was ordered to charge us for the dinner that we had returned because it was not made correctly. We felt bad for her, she explained that she had told the owner what happened with the dish and she thought that it should have been removed from the bill but he was not having it. The meal was not boxed up for us so we ended up paying for a meal and a salad we never received! The owner nor a manager never came to the table to comunicate anything! What an awkward position to put your waitress in! What were we going to do? The bill was paid and her tip was left but that is the last time we will everevergo there for dinner. I just am sad that it came to that. We have been going there for a long time and to lose our business over a plate of macaroni is insane to me. I am sure we won't be missed but this area is really small and word travels fast so I am hoping that if something like this happens again he takes a better position and extends some...

Called ahead of time to make reservations because when we tried to come last year they wouldn't even allow us to wait because they couldn't guarantee us a seat time. This year we were told there are no reservations during the summer but that we should have no problem on a Sunday if we get there by 5:00 getting seated. We arrived about 5:30. It was just two of us. We were asked if we cared to sit inside or out and we said it didn't matter. We ended up in a very far corner where we couldn't see anything except the servers coming and going in and out of the kitchen area and where they seem to be picking up extra cups, napkins, silverware and so on. Halfway through the meal I noticed that there was a ton of front outdoor seating that we could have been offered. When listening to the next table placing their orders we seem to notice that they were out of almost everything. We ended up going with a simple burger with blue cheese, bacon and sauteed onions with a side of regular fries. My husband got two orders of clams and one blue moon and I didn't ask for anything else and ordered water. The clams were extremely small and not very good. The burgers had way too many sauteed onions that seemed to be hurried instead of having a nice buttery glazed onion flavor and once we got the bill I saw that the fries were not even included with your meal. It was literally $8 for a handful of regular fries each. We were so excited to come here celebrating our anniversary knowing that for years we had heard so many great reviews and unfortunately were terribly disappointed. With appropriate tip our meal was just over $100. To me I'm sorry but that's a little crazy for bar style food even with inflation. It possibly would have been a little better experience if we had been seated...

Food is delicious. Deserts should win awards. Atmosphere unique, cozy and view is wonderful. One of our favorite places to eat. Waitress Mary M was alone and taking care of about 30 people at once and did not miss a beat. Service was awesome. We ate a great dinner and ordered a second dinner to take home for another day. It's obvious from the taste and freshness this is all "home made" style food. Even the whipped cream served with the apple pie was home made from egg whites - tastes it immediately as it was like my grandmas. The restaurant is almost an hour drive for us one way but worth every minute. Beautiful ride, lakeside and passing farmers markets alone the way. Blue Canoe is awesome. Kudos to Mary M who does the work of 4 waitresses all at the same time.

Stopped by for the first time for a late lunch on a beautiful Father's Day Sunday. The setting and outdoor dining areas are great - good view and comfortable furniture with umbrellas or a hard roof over one deck. The outside decks and bar were full but the rest of the inside of the restaurant was empty. The wait staff seemed to be hustling but service was a bit slow (we weren't in any hurry). The antipasto was very good and fresh. The grilled chicken sandwich was overcooked and but still edible. The two other salads were very pricey if you add a protein (e.g. $28 for a Caesar salad with shrimp). The outside deck is dog friendly. We'd come again.
