Basils II — Restaurant in Town of New Denmark

This is one of the best hidden "dive bars" around. Don't come here expecting a salad, this is well worth the extra calories.

We always come for a late lunch and love to eat at the bar versus a table or booth. As we scroll down the menu we end up stopping on the burgers. Oh, the burgers are so good! Now these aren't your dried out pucks, they are juicy, buttery and flavorful. I highly recommend the bacon cheeseburger.

Stopped in on a Saturday night and tried the 6 oz. steak and seafood, 1 with shrimp (medium-large, 10 of them) and 1 with the seafood sensation (crab with tiny shrimp). Again there was plenty of butter.

I believe I accidentally got the wrong steak plate as I ordered medium-rare and got a well done. The bartender realized this as I was cutting the steak and it took her about 2 minutes to replace it and I was back to eagerly tasting everything.

Let's talk about the Old Fashioneds...Delicious!! The bar was fairly busy so the bartender made them in tall beer glasses. What an enjoyable way to start your dinner.

Expect a sports and hunting atmosphere where you can spend your day doing maintenance around the house and on the spur of the moment decide to stop in for lunch or dinner without having to dress up.

The $20-30 price is lunch/dinner with 2 cocktails.

This place is an absolute hidden gem. My friend took me here after we went to the shooting range and I'm blown away at how amazing this place is. The burgers were incredible and so were the pepper jack cheese curds. I've never seen those before! I'm blown away at how affordable the prices are too. I had a burger, cheese curds and a bottled root beer for only $11 and they were all portioned generously. Can't beat that anywhere nowadays. I'm definitely coming back, totally worth the drive from Green Bay. Also, the bartenders were so friendly...

Drinks were good but food was dissapointing. I got the special for the night, tenderloin with shrimp skewers and the steak was overcooked with no flavor but char and the shrimp were undercooked and one was still ice cold. They took them back and cooked them more but they also just tasted like char. we were a group of 6 and the food didn't come out at the same time and we were just told "we'll it's busy". Overall I was not impressed and...
