Wisconsin Café — Restaurant in Town of Newton

A fairly unknown GEM. We stopped by on our way to Door County. The cafe is an order at the counter type place where the food is brought out to you. The food was fantastic, the plating seemed upscale, and the whole facility was clean and bright. The food was very reasonably priced as well. The staff were also phenomenal, and both staff members that were around came by to check on us. The both asked how everything was and if they could get us anything, and they were overall very pleasant with the ordering process too. There is a cute little store and a discovery center attached...

I was expecting something different here .. Better atmosphere, better food. Part of the Farm Wisconsin attraction. The French fries were hard and seemed like they were reheated from yesterday... Advertised as homemade French fries...I think not. The grilled cheese didn't look anywhere as good as their photo on their website and wasn't anything to write home about. The cheese curds were pretty pleasant, however. The vibe is just a sterile diner type feel. Nothing wrong with this establishment, I just expected more given the whole farm...
