My oh my where do I begin? I wanted to love this place so bad! It looks so beautiful… but looks only get you so far.
Gorgeous restaurant. Terrible food. So bad that it got me sick! And the customer service is even worse !!! Read for more .
A nice reunion with friends at a beautiful restaurant quickly turned to a horror story. I bite into my food and a black hair comes out of my mouth. Boy oh boy. I know these things happen so I told the waiter who was very apologetic and sent it back. A fresh plate came out- but seeing how I almost just swallowed someone’s hair I kind of lost my appetite and took a couple bites and decided to take it home. Ordered dessert as we were celebrating a birthday and it was awful!! The brownie- Dry, crusty and just… terrible ! We told the waiter and he had some snarky comment as if we were causing trouble.. but yet we were nice the whole time.. even after pulling a black hair out of my mouth. Mind you we have a hefty bill, we aren’t being shy, two bottles of wine, several apps and desserts, etc. the least he can be is kind and sympathetic to the fact the food was awful!
Less than 4 hours after dinner I become VIOLENTLY ill. Yikes. I called the restaurant to explain they wanted nothing to do with me. Said they would call me back. Never did. Then said the hair was blonde, which it wasn’t even a staff member said “omg that’s a black hair!” And when I finally got someone on the phone I was extremely polite and she jumped down my throat, I asked her to take a step back and to please speak to me with some respect as I am speaking to her in a kind manner, she should reciprocate the same energy . And I’m also a customer. She was NASTY! For no reason! Melissa was her name. My goodness I had no idea that customer service could be so poor. Our bill was quite expensive and they couldn’t even offer an apology, a gift card, a $40 refund?! Just awful! I could go on and on but would rather not.
If it wasn’t for the poor customer service I would 100% go back to have a drink at the bar and not eat the food- that’s how beautiful the place is. But the fact that EVERYONE was so nasty… is a complete turn off from this place. A customer of yours got sick- from your food… do the right thing. Simple. But common sense isn’t so common these days.
I have put this matter into the board of health’s hands and hope my truth will...
Read moreI want to start out by saying we have been here numerous times and always in the past had fantastic service and food. I am writing this review because we went for brunch this past Sunday and were disappointed. Most of our disappointment was around the service.
We were seated right away as the restaurant was only half full. But almost immediately service issues began. We sat for over 5 minutes before anyone came by. The first person to come by was a bus boy who dropped off cutlery and water. We tried to order coffee, but he didn't understand because when our waiter showed up we had to order coffee again. We ordered our meals and the bus boy brought over what was old Italian bread, not the typical mini corn bread sticks that are usually served. After another 10 minutes I asked a waiter who was passing by if we could have our coffees. By this point it was 20 minutes from when we first asked for coffee, and 15 minutes after we ordered it from our waiter.
Our water came by in just a couple of minutes and apologized that they were brewing another super fresh pot and it would be out soon. It took another 5 minutes before it arrived which made it just shy of half an hour to get just coffee.
Honestly, it is inexcusable during a brunch service to not have coffee to serve guests, and since it only takes like 5 minutes to brew a full pot of 10 cups of coffee with a Bunn, this was absolutely ridiculous.
The food was split. I had the Nova and poached eggs which was excellent as it usually is. My guest had pancakes that were disappointing as they were both chewy and undercooked and not light and fluffy at all.
The appetizer of popcorn shrimp was outstanding. but the busboy took my fork after it and when my meal was brought they didn't replace the fork, so when my poached eggs arrived I had to try to find someone to get me a fork, which took a couple of minutes.
We never saw a manager on duty at all, for if we had we would have asked to speak with them.
Honestly we were disappointed that after spending $80 on brunch that the service was no where near what was expected or we we had been used to...
Read moreI waited a few days to really process my experience before writing. We came here for my father's 75th birthday and we were a group of 9: 6 adults and 3 kids. When we first arrived they were very accommodating and sat us at our table, even though we were early. They sat us upstairs, which is definitely not as nice as downstairs, but it is much quieter, and in the end, probably made for a better experience. The food was above average, but given the prices, I do not think that anyone was blown away. We had two appetizers-spicy cauliflower (meh) and fried calimari (ok). My biggest complaint was with our server who attended to us during our visit. While he wasn't bad, per se, he was just super odd and it made for a strange dining experience. He was not very friendly and although he accommodated many of our needs, it was just weird dealing with him. He didn't say very much and would also disappear for long stretches of time. Everyone agreed that the server was a bit strange, but couldn't quite put a finger on why.At some point I asked for more water and he kind of acknowledged me with a nod, but then stood at the top of the stairs. I had to ask again. Someone in our party ordered decaf coffee. The coffee was not served hot. When I told him he said, "OK" and the walked away. He went on to have a bizarre interaction with the person who brought the coffee. At some point we got the coffee and it was slightly hotter. When it came time to pay, he was gone. Another server came to clear away our desserts and I asked if he could get our waiter so we could have the check. This person said they would bring me the check and he did. I never saw our original waiter again. It is just these little things that kind of made the experience less than cordial. Our bill was over $500 and I expect slightly better treatment at a restaurant like this on a special occasion. Anyways, not bad, but not great. I would not return to...
