Country Pride — Restaurant in Town of North Dansville

I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant at all except they're not 24/7 they do close at 9p.m. and I don't know what time they open at however the waiter was fantastic, clean, polite, and prompt. The order was simple, chicken fried steak with white gravy, two side were both mashed potatoes without gravy by my request, and it comes with one slice of garlic bread which most places when they were open pre-covid would usually forget, but not here. The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly, crispy outside but not so crispy it would shatter like other places I could name. The mashed potatoes tasted lightly buttery, not bland at all, and were a perfect consistency with no lumps or dry spots like what happens when they get scraped off the side of a pan. The bread was nicely buttered and garliced, slightly crisp from being toasted, perfectly made where it's not saturated from the butter or overly garlic but not under either, the inside of the bread was soft and warm and couldn't have been better. In my honest opinion a five star experience. I was the only person there until I was standing up to leave, so it was nice and quiet with the TV next to me as I say at the counter, playing the national weather channel.

food was ok. service was not the best. I had the all you can eat fish. Service was slow, very slow. waitress walked by me 3 times and I had to stop her. I ordered a desert to go and I did not get plastic ware to go with it after I asked one waitress for a fork she replied "they are over here" her look implied that I was supposed to was behind the counter to get it. I'm done with country pride. I had horrible service in fruitville ny twice and now in danville ny. I will kindly take my business elsewhere. I will say my service at country pride on the west coast has consistantly been better. I dont want to call racism but the two caucasion at the table next to me had their table visited several times. Tonight was the worst food and service we have ever had there. The Queso was watery, the pancakes were dry and Chalky, the pepsi was watery, the chicken on my chicken parm was fried too long, the bacon was from morning (but we were told it was deep fried, never heard of deep frying bacon) the eggs tasted like something else that was cooked before it and my mug was dirty. The waitress seemed to have an attitude (her face couldn't hide it) although she tried to hide it. Today's atmosphere in there was not very good. I don't know if we would ever come back.
