Gandy Dancer Saloon — Restaurant in Town of Oakland

I have Been gone from the area for 10 yrs, before that I bar tended at the Gandy for yrs. We moved back and we decided to try it out. I Made the mistake by asking if the still made the bull dog the same as Jim and Candy did. The owner wasn't very responsive to the question. Then I got 1.5 shot vodka and maybe 1/4 slot kahloa. I had to pay extra for more kahloa. So we sat and talked about the old times there and the people I served. She must of not liked that because she was telling people about how I just came in there throwing peoples name around. We vacation near here and like to stop into different bars. Thought we were in for a fun night but the locals did not make it very welcoming. They did not like that we were there, sitting in “their table” etc. Coming back next week and I do not think we will want to stop into this bar again! No one is going to serve you but, if you don't mind walking up to the bar, it's not a bad joint. Meat raffles are always fun and they put out some apps for you to eat too.
