This is a locals' favorite, kind of place. We are visiting the 1000 Islands area for its stunningly beautiful waters, islands, rocky landscapes, and lush pines. The Flying Spatula was, to us, a restaurant in the middle of nowhere and yet still in a perfect spot... so we dropped in. It's a quaint little place with a country kitchen feel. They do accept credit cards, and the coffee is good. Those were my two standards. Then we met the owner, who also is the cook. She was a delight. In addition to managing the restaurants back of the house, she was helping a brand new waitress, day 3 on the job, on how to interact with patrons. I admired her positive attitude in coaching this kid, who needs a little guidance. The new waitress, a young girl, and despite being a lot skittish and definitely still learning, she was actually fast on her feet... zooming around the restaurant. Once she develops her people skills and gets used to carrying hot plates, I think she's gonna be great. Order the Western Omelet and definitely get the rye toast. it's the best. Thanks for a great experience this morning. See you next trip.

Take the time to enjoy the food here at the Flying Spatula. We have tried this place a couple times. The 3/4lb burgers are delicious. We tried the bacon cheeseburger with lettuce and mayo. The burger had crispy edge with a juicy bite. The bacon was small broken pieces in every bite. And the bun did not get soggy as it was lightly toasted. Added Fries, good flavor, but not as crispy as we prefer. Overall the meal was just right. Try the breakfast, lunch or dinner options here. They are open for breakfast and lunch hours so come before it’s too late. The service was nice and the family is sweet.

Very good small restaurant. With a big and quiet parking lot for semi truck. Good service, very good lunch and big portions. The lady seem to work all by herself inside so she work hard and she’s very gentle. I recommend and will be back there for sure !!

We stopped for breakfast, the diner wasn’t busy. We sat down and about five minutes later an irritated woman set our table and gave us menus, she didn’t take our drink order. We waited for about 10 minutes without anyone paying us any attention. Another couple arrived and sat for about 10 like we had and finally they were able to order drinks, we have now waited twenty minutes without a bit of attention paid to us. The atmosphere was horrible, the prices were a bit too expensive for a two egg omelette, I mean who has two egg omelets? We finally just got up and walked out while the waitress watched us leave… Finally someone noticed us . PS. I wouldn’t even have cared except we had about a three hour drive ahead of us and that was just...

First time there had a horrible experience When I received mozzarella sticks they were burnt couldn’t eat asked for marinara sauce and received cold salsa

They advertised fresh potatoes chips upon request the waitress brought my burger and fresh chips dropped them at table never said I would the chips were so burnt when I picked one up it crumbled into pieces

Waitress never came back to table to check on us

I cannot only believe that not only the cook would send the food out like this but the waitress clearly knew everything was burnt and cold and expected me to eat and never came back

This was our first and last time there

Do...
