We love Armstrong Apples Orchard and Winery. Usually it's not to crazy busy. We Love that when we go pick apples that the orchards aren't a muddy mess. Its pretty laid back place. We always go out first to pick our apples and then head back to get one of their giant pretzels and one or two of their honey crisp cider gallons (well worth the extra cost!) There is also a large area for the kids to play as well as a few activities like an bean bag toss(free) and an apple launch(I think you have to pay $1 for a small basket full of imperfect apples to launch). They also offer free wine tastings(3 per person) or you can choose to buy additional tastings that come with a complimentary wine glass. There is a good selection of different wines and good descriptions of each with dry to sweet ratings. We enjoyed the free tasting and brought a bottle of our favorite back home with us. Definitely a must stop for us at least once or...
Read moreMy initial reason for the visit was due to a Living Social deal I purchased. The deal was for a "tasting experience" for two. My first thought of the grounds was how beautiful it was. There was a large field with many different games available for children and adults. After walking inside, I was greeted by a wonderful and friendly man who began discussing wines available for tasting while his wife began making our tasting plate. He was very informative and didn't rush our tastings like other wineries do. Not to long after that a kind woman named Lisa brought us our tasting tray and it was breathtaking. It included multiple unique cheeses, nuts, fruit, dips, and dessert. The presentation was wonderful and everything tasted like heaven. It was an experience I will not forget and it is a place I hope to...
Read moreOrchard is... fine. Store is... fine. Definitely light on a lot of things I've come to expect at apple orchard stores- had a few things but notably didn't have cider donuts or jars of apple butter, that kind of thing. They seem to lean very heavily into the winery, which, ehhhhhh. Did their 7 tastes for $10 and the wine was pretty bad. Sulfites and sugar, just everything was syruppy and cheap tasting. Your aunt who isn't very picky will probably find it to be pretty okay, and at least they don't charge a lot. Kids truly appreciated the play area here as they've been bored at many similar establishments. One of the only somewhat credible touristy places for dozens of miles in any direction, which isn't nothing if you need something to do...
