Cedar Lodge Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Parishville

Me and my wife love looking for new places to eat, and I would always hear ''check out the cedar lodge, its great!". So tonight we did just that, and we left very disappointed and it's safe to say we will not be back. Let's start with the appetizer, I ordered the buffalo chicken balls and when they were brought out I ripped one open and ate half and realized that it was still frozen in the middle.....chicken still frozen. I'm a cook and rule number one when cooking anything is always take your temperature of everything you serve and it's not like they were busy, so there is no excuse for not taking temps, well we sent them back and around three minutes later got them back and it was the same ones we sent back, instead of a new batch. Now my wife got the prime rib meal bc the waitress said it was delicious, but when she got it she took four bites from different areas and it was 90 percent grizzle so she was gagging, so we had to send that back and by this time we were both just done with the place, so instead of waiting for another prime rib, she just wanted a cheeseburger, so they took prime rib back into kitchen and I could see them talking to cook and I could see all the eye rolling the cook was doing so that was just adding to how disappointed we both were. And now on to my order, I ordered the Reuben. I got what I thought was going to be a traditional Reuben, but instead I got a Reuben made with what looked like steak or beef or prime rib, I'm not sure but I know it wasnt corned beef, but the waitress never mentioned that it wasnt corned beef. Now we already sent back two items so I didnt want to make it a third, so I just ate mine. It was a good sized portion, I finished my "Reuben" and around that time my wife finally got her hamburger she ordered. She got a very unseasoned burger with no flavor, so we were ready to get out of this place, so I ordered a peice of cheesecake and it did not taste like cheese cake, but had the consistency of a frosting that has been sitting in the fridge...

We stopped by this place because of the reviews on Google. It has the highest rating of any restaurant or eatery from massena to Potsdam and Malone.I got to say it was the best fish fry I've had in years. Nice big portion of beer battered haddock. That was fried to perfection, nice and crispy on the outside moist and flaky on in. It came with two sides out of choices of many I picked the french fries and also the homemade macaroni and cheese.my wife end up getting an order of macaroni and cheese too and we both said it was the best we've ever had. Since then we've been back and most likely it will become a every week ritual. The only thing that's against the cedar Lodge is location. But it was meant for a establishment 4 snowmobilers and also ATV enthusiast. But what it lacks in that it makes up for in the homemade food. Excellent food, seriously! I am a foodie, and I am always in search of great food at decent prices. I hadn't been to the Cedar in a few years. Went the other day and had gigantic chicken wings that were cooked to perfection, and a huge basket of crispy waffle fries. My friend had the prime rib and said it was the best he had ever had! The turkey dinners and burgers we saw going by looked amazing as well. The girls who work there are friendly and the service was great....
