Just about the best you can get. Value wise and quality of food and service. My boyfriend and I both work in a restaurant so we are extremely picky when we do have time to go out. We look and look for the right place and every time we just know it can’t get better than the rain dancer. I almost always get the fisherman’s platter, which is just insanely reasonsbly priced. They do it so well that the low price and huge portions still make them money. Everything tastes so fresh which I have no doubt it is. It’s always cooked perfectly. I even had enough to finish at the drive in one night. The salad bar is great. If you go there hungry it won’t be long until you’re not. The prime rib is crazy big like it would be difficult for a large man to finish. But you really can’t stop eating it. Even finishing 3/4 of it you’re left with a perfect lunch! The prices are high if you’re looking for a casual place with ok steaks and frozen seafood. But you get nothing but the best for the best price around. Such a great place all around. Also we have had Rebeca as our server multiple times and she is fantastic! Courteous and fun. Definitely seals the deal. Only thing that threw us off was when we ordered desert, which we never do, but the strawberry shortcake was very hard. Like a rock. I have worked in a kitchen and for the meal we had just eaten we could assume nothing but an honest mistake. Someone who put out the meal we ate would have never purposely served that if they had realized. It does happen from time to time to everyone. We weren’t even put off by it. That’s how great our dinner was. Thankyou for being such an easy local solution to such picky people like us! I crave your lobster on a...
Read moreHave been here many times, fairly new to the area, have yet to find a dish I love. But it seems like it’s the place to go for Amsterdam, nothing particularly special, but I continue to go because of outings with friends, work, or funeral receptions. Anyways, my MIL give my husband & I a $100 gift certificate almost a year ago, & it somehow managed to get wet & the majority of the ink came off the certificate. I went back to the restaurant to see if they would honor it as you could still see the pen indentation of the signature & the amount. Unfortunately, they brought someone who looked like a cook from the back, with a distasteful attitude & refused to honor it because they ‘haven’t had gift certificates in years’, when I know that’s a lie because I’ve received a couple while here over the last 2.5 years, a simple, ‘no, I’m sorry, it’s probably expired’ would have sufficed without trying to talk someone down & getting all fired up. Or at least half of what the amount clearly was, to get my husband his dish. & although I was hoping they would, I wasn’t surprised, just another mediocre business.Telling my MIL not to get me anymore gift certificates, gifts cards, napkins, anything from here lol & steering all my family & friends away. Just a very unprofessional interaction that could have easily been avoided should they have a behaved decently, seeing that this wasn’t a complaint to begin with, just a question, & I really wanted to give them another chance to finally find my dish. But this was not ok. Try Moscatiello’s in East Greenbush tho! Delicious! Or even Nicolino’s just down the road! Lorenzo’s is good too as well as La Mexicana & La...
Read moreI was excited to try this restaurant so I decided to treat my wife and I to a nice date night at what was supposed to be a great place from the local reputation. I practically never post bad reviews or slam local businesses but this was a very upsetting experience for us both. The server was kind and the staff was very welcoming. The prices would be fair IF the food was even halfway decent!!! We both ordered delmonicos, mine was supposed to be medium and my wife's medium rare. Mine was terribly burnt on one side making it taste awful and was raw/rare on the other side. My wife's was medium well....we also had the worst mozzarella sticks I've had anywhere besides frozen ones at home as well the artichoke dip was basically cream cheese with scallions on top also the worst I've ever had anywhere(I would gladly pay the same $200 to go to a Friday's for 2 I kid you not), the rice was dry and undercooked, the loaded mash potatoes were very salty and seemed to be from a box. Lastly the "Patron" mixed drink I had tasted like it was made with rubbing alcohol/ plastic bottle quality tequila it was not patron, patron is smooth I know patron smh. Go to the Rustic Loft down the street it's cheaper and of much better quality. I'm sorry to post this I truly am but it was very deserved. The one positive the roll that came with the salad was decent/the best part...
