CHECK THE MENU AND RECENT REVIEWS BEFORE YOU GO * 5/28/2023 update - not entirely sure what has happened to Livingoods in the last 6-8 months, but likely will not be returning. This was, for years, my go to restaurant in the area (I have updated my prior 5 star recommendation 3 times to speak of how much I loved this place). I would religiously bring family, friends and visiting work colleagues here as a first choice, excellent quality food, fantastic friendly and prompt service, great atmosphere (staff and patrons alike), had at least 5 dishes that had to rotate between because I could not possibly pick a favorite. This evening however, with the exception of the very apparently short staffed staff, everything I had come to love about Livingood's is gone. The Staff: (12/10) The staff is still incredibly friendly, but can only be as prompt as the kitchen, and it's even harder when there are only 2 people for the entire resteraunt plus one bartender. They were doing what they could regardless of the obvious lack of leadership and guidance. I felt awful for them, as it looks like they are trying to bail out the Titanic with Dixie cups, and still did it with a smile and grateful attitude. The food: (2/10) Every single item that I loved and would gladly recommend to new visitors is gone from the menu. The crispy chicken sandwich was one of the best north of NYC, the Ceasar Salad they had was, literally, the best Ceasar salad I've ever had, the fantastic Signature burger series were always awesome, the pulled pork egg rolls were a given for every visit, ALL GONE. As for my meal this evening: ordered my burger Med rare (it was med well), girlfriend ordered med well and it was medium. The fries are not the same, these are the same fries I get at generic chain restraunts that I avoid. The bacon is no longer the nice thick cut maple bacon, it's nearly flavorless (I had to check that it was actually on the burger). The mound of onions that were piled in one heap in the middle of the bun however were not flavorless, and also a surprise since the menu didn't say anything about onions (just lettuce and tomato), unfortunately I also hate raw onion, so it was not a surprise that I appreciated. They were out of cheddar for burgers, and ran out of the only beer I have not had from them and was looking forward to trying as well. To be honest I have had better burgers at the generic chains (Craplebees, 99, etc.). The atmosphere: (-3/10) We used to love going here, and often looked forward to it when guests were in town, or we decided to treat ourselves for a Friday night and have a chance to enjoy a great meal in a great atmosphere, this evening I just wanted to finish and pay my bill so I could leave. The disappointment of the changes almost felt palpable in the guests, and although nothing has physically changed, the place felt oppressive and uncomfortable. Overall (3/10) It disheartens me to know that my favorite restaraunt in the area has been driven into the ground in a matter of months, there is already a shortage of really good places that don't just drop food directly from a Sysco truck straight into a fryer then toss it on a plate, and Livingoods had been a standout in the area until now. I will keep my eye out for future changes as I love supporting local places as much as possible, I just cannot support Livingoods right now until some things change for the better. Photos- empty parking lot at 6:30 on Memorial Day Weekend, I used to hate having to find parking here. Med well burger that was supposed to be med rare. And the pile of surprise onions.

Ok I'm going to start from a year ago. My husband, our two friends, and myself had just spent all day hiking, and had gone tubing through the lazy river at Ausable Chasm (let me tell you I do NOT recommend riding the tubes, but that's another review). Whatever the case we came out wet, exhausted, impatient, and annoyed. We decided that beer would be the trick to save us. After a google search we ended up with LivinGood's and thank whatever god(s) were out there looking on us. The beer was amazing, and not just some, but all of them! We were so ecstatic, because usually you try at least one beer at a brewery that you don't end up liking. And even the food was delicious, and the staff was super accommodating and friendly. They gave us excellent ideas for our night in Plattsburgh. We left feeling muuch better. We woke up the next morning wondering if it was all in our heads. Our biggest disappointment upon returning home was that LivinGood's doesn't distribute in the Southern Tier....yet, I hope. Fast forward to this weekend. For a year we've been pondering how to get back to LivinGood's. We used the Adirondack Balloon Fest in Queensbury as our excuse, but we quite literally planned out the trip for LivinGood's. We were so nervous that we had been so "starved and depraved" a year ago that it was all just a figment of our imagination that it was so good. But we were not disappointed the second time around. We each got two flights so that we could taste all of the beer it was still so good. And my husband joked that the fries must be made with unicorn tears, everything is just that delicious. The staff was just as great as before, they helped us to get multiple growlers to take home with us for our friends and family. All of this while the restaurant was really busy. We got to meet the owner as well and thanked him for his good beer, food, and staff. I should mention that the place is so clean, spacious, and has an excellent atmosphere. I made sure to write this review a few days after our visit so that nobody could claim I was just leaving a drunk review :D. Thank you LivinGood's crew and we hope you don't forget us in the Southern Tier when you get a chance to distribute!

3/9/2024- Still 1 Star, nothing has changed, they haven’t learned from the bad reviews. I wish there were more dining options available. It’ll be a very long time before I return here…. Just 😢 07/22/2023- “ We ran out of pizza” READ RECENT REVIEWS BEFORE GOING! This place used to be good. But it’s going from 5 stars to 1 star. This is the second time in a row we’ve had a bad experience. The first time I left the 5 stars because I thought it may have been a fluke. I’m not sure what’s happened here, but it’s not good. Myself, wife and son stopped here for dinner tonight just to have pizza. We ordered some drinks and an appetizer of calamari(the calamari change from the original calamari that was smothered with oil, which I was excited about, but is not any better now, it tasted Burnt and dried and over cooked). When the waiter came back to take our order, we proceeded to order our pizzas which we were looking forward to, just to be told “oh we ran out of pizza”. How do you run out of pizza on a Saturday night a half empty restaurant? I believe it was because, it was after eight and they close at nine and they shut the oven down. Meanwhile, we sat there and everyone else around us were being served pizza . Pizza is 1/3 of the menu? I wish that had been told to us prior to ordering drinks and appetizer because we would’ve went to McDonald’s, instead we had mediocre chicken wings that were smothered and hot sauce that had so much cayenne that it left a bitter taste in your mouth. And my son ordered pasta with Alfredo sauce that literally tasted like milk thickened with flour. Totally disappointing. We literally should have gone to McDonald’s and wr would have not been so disappointed. Won’t be going back anytime soon and this is heartbreaking because we had our wedding reception here 20 years ago when it was crickets. But this place is gone right to the crapper. We've been several times and always great service, food and beer. Oct 20 2022- we order a couple pizzas to go… very disappointed. They were very bland and the crust was literally like trying to eat a piece of cardboard. The pizza definitely needs some work! Maybe just a bad night?
