Highly disappointed in this establishment. Advised us we could book a high school graduation party. We took the time to go see the venue, and book it. Wrote a deposit check which THEY CASHED. The Owner and/or Management decided they did not want the risk of having minors in their facility, despite the fact that it is a family atmosphere. Instead of the owner or management calling me, they have the young gal call me to deliver the news of the fact that won't honor the business arrangement. She was clearly uncomfortable with the call, and I could hear the Manager in the background bellowing what she should say. A better way to handle - the decision maker calls and takes the heat for their very large mistake, and not send in someone else to do their dirty work. And when the Manager got on the phone at my request, she did NOT apologize. She chastised me for taking issue w/ all of this, and became very argumentative & condescending. She then said I could pick up $75 in cash. No - you can mail me a check, so I don't waste any more of my time. A bad situation that could have been handled a lot better by those who are supposed to be in charge. Again - their decision. But know what you are agreeing to when you book a party, don't spend my money and not honor your commitment, and then handle the bail out on your end so...
Read moreSheryl’s Club 175 is our go to place for fish fry. There is always excellent Classic Rock coming from the sound system as you walk in. Friendly faces from behind bar greet you. Atmosphere is neighborly, as you get the feeling that there are a lot of regulars here. We have been coming to Sheryl’s since moving to the area about 2 years ago, and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Much of the staff have been there quite awhile, as most look familiar. This time the bartender was our server. He has served us before, as I recognized his Bucks apparel and pleasant demeanor. I ordered the Baked Cod and my wife had the regular Cod Fish Fry. Libations were 3 Sheep’s Amber Ale for me, and Brandy Old Fashioned press for the Wifee. Both were excellent. The meal took a minute, but that was just fine as we enjoyed our drinks. Baked Cod with lemon pepper was among the best I’ve had. Fish fry was a little warm not hot. Wasn’t enough to quibble over. House fries were perfectly done and tasty. Beans, bread, and slaw were above average. Not real crazy about the tarter, but that is a matter of taste. My fish was so good; no need for tarter. We shall, of course return! Thanks for a...
Read moreVery upsetting experience this time around. We have been there a handful of times prior to last night and had wonderful experiences. The timeliness of the food being served, customer service, etc. was all wonderful which is why we decided to go back for a Friday night fish fry.
We ordered pretzel sticks as an appetizer which took 45 minutes and once they were finally brought out, they were frozen in the middle. About 10 seconds after the frozen pretzels were brought out, our fish fries came out as well. 10 seconds is not an adequate amount of time to enjoy an appetizer, meanwhile the entrees just sit there and get cold. The fish fries were missing the rye bread that they stated came with. The sour cream and chive fries were barely seasoned.
When we politely told the waitress about the pretzels taking 45 minutes and coming out frozen, her response was “sorry the kitchen is having like panic attacks”. Also, the original waitress who took our order, never even acknowledged how long the pretzels took, never apologized, never asked how everything was, completely oblivious. All around, very poor customer service and very low quality food served. Truly a...
