Bandana's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Porter

Ignored to be seated, waited on and served-should have left at that point! Very slow service, dark and dirty restaurant, but the food was by far the worst of the experience! The onion strips came out in a huge dark oily pile that almost stuck together in one greasy clump and tasted like their fryer oil hadn't been changed in a year! They didn't have bacon so had to order the Mexican potato skins instead of regular which ended up making me sick before I even finished dinner! My 2 kids ordered the nachos with beef. They came with so much lettuce you couldn't tell what else was on it...because that was the most of what was on it we realized. Then my daughter was eating hers and found a hair! My husband ordered the Beef on Weck which was the best meal of anyone's but it still just tasted like boiled meat on a heavily salted bun. Absolutely horrible service, disgusting food, dirty restaurant, was treated poorly by staff! Not sure how this place is still open and hasn't...

Went for a nice family dinner and was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience! Has a separate dining area away from the bar which is family-friendly. Was decorated nice for Christmas.They have a designated kids menu, which I appreciate! Foodwise, I've never had anything bad from this place! BEST French Onion soup around!! Very flavorful! I've had things in the past, various wraps and sandwiches, appetizers etc.. while grabbing a drink; all consistently good and good portions. Last night,, I had a special; a burger melt with bacon jam and onion, very good. Others had beef on weck and Cajun catfish (pictured). Our waitress was amazing (I think her name was Levi), very kind and attentive! The bartender was also very nice. Dining room was decorated nice for Christmas, which my daughter loved. Bandanas is usually a must when going back home as the food is excellent, no matter what you choose. Well-not this time. We couldn’t order what they usually have for some reason and ordered Italian fish fry but it was breaded and served over pasta & sauce. No tomatoes, spices and hardly any sauce. The fish was horrible-old and flat and cooked to a crisp! Someone else ordered beer batter fish fry and it was SO over cooked you couldn’t even snap it in half, looked like a pigs ear you give to your dog! We threw the entire 2 dinners out! $40 in the can. The rumors said things have changed and the owner said they weren’t true but what the heck happened to their Cook? Will definitely think...
