Red's & Trudy's — Restaurant in Town of Portville

I witnessed a situation while I was there on Sunday and the staff handled it very well despite being berated. The woman claimed “do you see what truck i drove here with? Do you think I can’t afford to pay my bill?” because apparently the atm wasn’t working. I used it before and after said customer tried because I didn’t withdrawal enough the first time and decided to grab to-go shakes! I would assume the issue was that it might not work with credit cards, so if you’re planning to eat on credit, keep that in mind. Luckily there is a bank 327.8 yards away from reds and Trudy’s if their atm ever did stop working. It’s been a cash only business since it opened decades ago. And the prices reflect that! So affordable. Also I’ve never once had an issue with their food quality. In fact, I went back again today because it was so good on Sunday! I only came on here because the customer seemed like they’d be the type to give a bad review, and alas… I was correct. So I’m giving my two cents after a wonderful meal again today. This place used to be a favorite of mine. Nowadays, I find myself dissatisfied every time I go. The last few times I've been to Red's and Trudy's I've just been disappointed with the quality of the food. This last time, my burger tasted extremely bland. They had no sliced pickles, which I found extremely odd for a restaurant that is locally famous for it's burgers. When we asked for lemon in our water, the waitress handed us a little lemon bottle filled with lemon juice. I had never seen that before, in any restaurant, ever. Actually, we didn't end up drinking the water at all, because even that smelled and tasted a little off. The last couple of milkshakes I've had there have been less than good. There was nothing notable about the staff or service. I think I'll take a break from Red's and Trudy's for awhile. Tried something a little different and glad we did. We had our 2 little grands, myself and hubby and the atmosphere and staff were beyond welcoming!! The prices were very reasonable considering 4 people ate for 35.00 including dessert, yeah let's talk about that amazing large strawberry shortcake..ummm yummy! I was a little taken back as their cheeburgers are not traditional patties but let me say it was phenomenal! The rolls are absolutely delicious and unlike any I have ever tasted, I honestly could have eaten a dozen buns plain but add the loose meat burger with some of the relish and 💥 flavor explosion!
