Everything about this restaurant is just "ok".
We each ordered a dinner, mine was their chicken cutlet, my partners was the salmon. The fried chicken cutlet had cheese on top with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar which sounded interesting but it did very little to make this plain dish appetizing. It didn't help that the chicken was fried too long. The broccoli rabe, which the chicken cutlet sat on top of, was also, just ok. I think it would have been better served on the side. Still a bit of an odd combination IMHO. The salmon was reportedly "ok" but nothing special.
I will give them props for serving an excellent pre-dinner salad. A lot of different kinds of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions served with a very tasty balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side that the waitress said was homemade. They also had a wide selection of homemade cocktails that changed every season though we did not try them.
Speaking of drinks, we both had a glass of Montepucciano wine ($15/glass). I expected something quite good, but it was the opposite. Sadly one of the most disappointing wines I've had.
That said, one half of the restaurant is a bar and the other half is for dining. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fine, but the bar looked very inviting. My bar days are long over, but I wouldn't discount this place as perhaps a good place to meet some friends for drinks and maybe get a sandwich - I'd certainly try it for that. But I won't be going back to...
Read moreWe recently hosted a baby shower at Jason Patrick's on 44, and it was an outstanding experience! With the support of family, friends, and the amazing JP staff, everything went perfectly.
We chose a variety of menu items for a delicious brunch spread, and the Chicken Francese and roasted potatoes were particularly spectacular! Our guests were impressed with the food and appreciated the diversity of options. The staff was exceptional in accommodating our mother-to-be's dietary restrictions, which was a top priority, allowing us to relax and enjoy the event.
The venue was beautifully decorated for fall, perfectly matching our theme, which was an added bonus. We comfortably accommodated about 30 people with ample space for activities, gifts, and decor.
Caitlin and Dee were wonderful on the day of the event, ensuring we were well taken care of with their attentive and friendly service. Madison was very thorough leading up to the event, ensuring we'd have everything we'd need for the day of.
It was a beautiful day celebrating my friend's growing family, and Jason Patrick's on 44 played a significant role in making it memorable. Thank you to the...
Read morePros: Ambiance was nice (at the other tables) and staff was very friendly. Massive portion of prime rib.
Cons: The place was nearly empty yet the greeter sat us at the table nearest the kitchen, with a lattice panel "separating" us from the loud clanking of dishes 2 feet away. I would have asked to move but I didn't realize the issue until we were settled, and at that point it was comical as we looked around at all the better unused options and laughed to ourselves. I suggest this table only be used if all others are taken.
We ordered two of the prime rib dinners, but our waitress wouldn't substitute soup for the salad when my wife asked. I understand policy but not even an option to upcharge? Just a "no, we couldn't possibly do that" attitude.
We asked for medium rare prime rib (otherwise it's basically just roast beef) but it came out super well done and dry. The waitress did offer to exchange it but we had already been waiting an hour for the food to come and didn't have time to wait longer. She comped a dessert as a consolation.
I swear we aren't that difficult to please, but a lot of little things make this place hard...
