The Ridge Terrace is hands down my favorite restaurant of all time. I've been enjoying meals there since my first trip to Lake George in 2011 and I've never not made room in the trip for a dinner at the Terrace ... once I went twice on a long weekend trip to the area. I haven't strayed far from the first thing I ever tried there in 2011, but that's because I've never found it served anywhere else and it's that damn good, that being the Filet Mignon Cordon Bleu Au Champignon. Incredible. The Kidney Bean Salad and a Caesar salad to start the meal round out my favorite meal around. As a pretty talented home chef myself, I've worked out how I could go about replicating the meal in my own kitchen, but I just can't bring myself to do it, I'll leave it to the pros at The Ridge Terrace, it makes the meal that much more special every time I get to have it again.

A great place for bad taste. I don't honestly know where to start with this. Four of us went to this fun house for a nice dinner. We should have known what we where in for when the cole slaw came out swinging. Do you like sweet cinnamon sticky buns this cole slaw has you covered raisins and all. Do you like improperly cleaned escargot this place has you. Do you like bland food mixed with overly sweet sticky buns this place has you. Do you like to over pay for quite frankly just terrible food with one note of flavor. Well then come on down to the ridge terrace. The take home bag says it all but I'm sure the dog would put it's tail between it's legs and run. This place was comically bad. So go and waste a good amount of money or save that cash to burn in a fire for more fun.

I had a lovely dinner with my partner here when we were visiting from out of town. The log cabin atmosphere was cozy, but still classy. We both ordered the chateaubriand, and we were not disappointed! We also had a bottle of wine, which the restaurant was able to reseal for us to take home when we didn't finish it. The location is certainly a bit out of the way, but it was worth the journey, and I still had enough cell signal to get an Uber back after dinner.

We consider ourselves seasonal locals and have been to The Ridge Terrace many times. Unfortunately, after last evening, I doubt we will be back. It started when we told the hostess we had a reservation and she said “ right this way” then said, “ you wanted that table over there, right?” I said “ “ yes” and she said “ menus are on the table “ and walked away. We stood there in the main aisle thinking maybe she would come back and escort us to the table but realized quickly, she wasn’t coming back and to seat ourselves. The waitress, with little to no personality, took our order quick enough and unfortunately we were told “ we just sold the last Prime Rib”. My husband substituted with a NY strip that was hardly a substitute and mediocre. Then there was my meal. When we ordered, I clearly said to the waitress “ We will start with the stuffed mushrooms and I will have the Seafood Au Gratin”. The waitress then asked if I wanted kidney beans or coleslaw, dressing for my salad , and baked potato or fries. Now it is important to note Seafood AuGratin is listed twice on their menu, as an appetizer and as a dinner. Since I was offered the salad, coleslaw and potato, it was quite clear to me I was ordering Seafood AuGratin as dinner, not to mention I said “ we will start with the stuffed mushrooms “. Dinner begins to come out and she brings the baked potato and says “ I was told the potato does not come with your dinner and I will have to charge you”. I was a bit confused and told her to take it away. Then the Seafood AuGratin comes out and it is so tiny I could eat it in 4 bites at most. I then realized it was the Seafood AuGratin APPETIZER. I did eat it. But when the waitress came back , I asked her “ was that the Seafood AuGratin Appetizer” ? And she told me it was and that was what I ordered??? I told her that I was angry and I know what and how I ordered it ( as above)and we were there to celebrate our anniversary. She put down the check and walked away after saying “ sorry, but I fixed it to charge you as an appetizer “. I have no idea where the mistake was made, the waitress or the kitchen, but it is unacceptable. I was brought the salad and the coleslaw, but then all of a sudden the potato is an extra charge and Seafood AuGratin became an appetizer. Extremely disappointed in what use to be our favorite Lake George restaurant. I guess I shouldn’t set my expectations so high, as when you do, you clearly can get...

We had 9 people celebrating a milestone birthday. The food was good, exceptional steak. A few of us had different versions and all love it. The variety on the menu was very nice. Everyone found something. Even with one of our party having significant dietary restrictions the kitchen offered modifications to make the necessary accommodations.

Where the rating falls short is the service. The only reason the rating has two stars, not one, is because one of the staff was exceptional. Kind patient and willing to answer the questions we had.

The other staff was quite the opposite. Short with answers, which would be ok, until the end where she was flat out rude and inappropriate to customers. More detail below.

Though questions were answered they were often short. Having been in food service before I know people have different approaches and days.

The last straw was when we were informed there are other people waiting for our table. Again fine, not the best approach, but sometimes needed. Howeve. we were not all done with our dessert. When politely menntioend to the staff member that it wasn't a necessary comment, I was told " you were done eating". Which I politely corrected and said I was still eating. The follow up was "I saw your plate was empty". Regardless of it was or was not (which it wasn't I was enjoying the last two bites at our tdimmly lit table), that type of behavior to anycustomer is not appropriate.

I will NOT be going back, which is sad as the food...

We had a party of 30 people on 8/12/18..... we have never been so mistreated as we were there.....wait stuff being overheard saying by no means will we accommodate this party...laughing behind our backs.

We spent over $1000.00 and had a terrible experience.... they wouldn't split our checks but would take multiple payment methods....does that even make any sense? We made reservations for a family reunion and spent most our time trying to beg the staff to accommodate us with splitting the bill into perhaps just three or four different checks.

On top of that they were rude while clearing the table, even hitting one of our family members in the head with a dish....and bringing out the sides after the main course.....it's like serving desert before the steak.... My wife ordered the chicken parm.......please don't make the same mistake.....it was absolutely dreadful. All I tasted was nutmeg.....I think that's what it was.

My sister ended up calling the management and complained...sounds like they just yesed her and offered nothing for our bad experience. If I managed or own this establishment, I would find out all who worked last night and fire them on the spot....including their unfriendly homely looking hostess......no questions asked.

If I could give negative thumbs down....I would give a -10.

There looks like a much better restaurant about 2 miles north of this...
