Rustic Ridge Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Town of Quincy

Friday Oct 27th, 2017. Assortment of seafood. Large salad bar. Wheat bread and pumpernickle. I enjoyed the cod and flounder. Large spread and assortment with also a delicious Flounder and calimari. Three issues troubled me. The patee was very bitter and very loose in texture. This liver patee, to my experience with patee gets 1 star. The meat was well done with several small pieces very dry. A 2 star on the meat. I asked the girl at the bar about the date stamp on the half and half individual sealed creamers; The date was 100517 and 112017. She said ot was probably a "Sell by date", but didn't know. "So, these are still good for consumer use and your restuarant", I asked? She replied that she.would ask someone. The final negative was when I wanted some white bread; the waitress was very nice and quick to bring out a fresh loaf. It was Sour Dough bread which I dislike the sour taste. One more item was the American Fries; few on the back pan and dried out and over cook. I have eaten here at least once a year in the Fall and was satisfied with the quality. This time NO! Two buffets and coffee was $38.00. In my opinion the value of these two meals was low. I was disappointed to add the payment to my credit card. I can’t attest to the food other than I strongly suggest to not eat the dry coleslaw. Everyone at our table ordered a fish dinner unfortunately we never got our food. We literally waited over an hour and a half and still didn’t get our food! I finally asked the server if she could bring out the coleslaw and cornbread that is served with our dinner. We were all so hungry we scarfed down the cornbread but I wasn’t able to stomach the dry foul smelling coleslaw. The server mentioned there would be a wait which is understandable however we sat waiting and not once did she ask if we wanted more to drink. The worst part was that numerous tables who came in after us were served and left while we continued to wait! We finally had enough and left very disappointed and hangry. As we left we heard that the server had just put our order in about 40 mins earlier. This server never came and admitted that she made a mistake and forgot to put in our order. Not one person from management came to apologize or even give us a reason as to why we were watching so many other tables eating and leaving even though they arrived after us. I have been a server and completely understand that mistakes happen and sometimes we forget however the way we handle it is what counts. This was not handled at all! The staff dismissed the mistake. Going downhill. We have come here 4-5 times a year, but past year, things just not up to standards. The cost of a meal is high for an extremely noisy, crowded restaurant that does not seem interested in updating areas needing repair. (A normal person would not allow friends to use their bathroom if it looked as bad as at Carlson’s Restaurant ...and this has been like this for At least 3 months!) Stall in women’s bathroom has had closed sign on it for at least 3 months. Large piece of Wallpaper has been ripped off bathroom wall...2.5 feet! Has been like this since LAST summer. Very disappointing meal. Salad dressing thin and off tasting. Tomato soup looked and tasted like a can of stewed tomatoes were warmed up. Tasteless. If I am going to pay $26 for small prime rib, I don’t want to have to have to negotiate how I am going to get to the salad bar, because the tables are so close together. As nice as the restaurant looks, the wooden ceiling does nothing to absorb the noise. Impossible to carry on normal conversation without difficulty hearing what partner says. Very nice wait staff who understood our disappointment...
