We stopped due to the recommendations George Motz’s book “Hamburger America.” The staff was attentive, the prices were reasonable and they had a nice bar / patio / space. While the burgers were good, the preparation method of using water in a pan was not my favorite. This resulted in a very sloppy burger. Burger taste is subjective, so I did not take a star off for that. My reservation is serving the entire meal on a platter and then putting the burger on napkins. I get not wanting to have to clean a lot of dishes, but paper plates should have been an option. The grease from the burgers got all over the table and was distracting from the experience. I love traveling to different places and this was certainly that.

A treasure and tradition! Amazing burgers-- the patty hangs beyond the bun and is delicious! Had the cheeseburger with fried onions. Also had the fries and cheese curds. The menu is simple but well done. Good variety. Service is quick. The quirkiness of the restaurant is that the food for each order is served on 1 plate and you use napkins for individual meal. But it works! An easy stop between Door County and Green Bay!

Another iconic burger and a must stop on my burger tour. I suspect they have a unique method of cooking the beef that I was not able to extract from the server. Regardless of the method the result was a mouth watering and unique hamburger. I'd have to drive 2000 miles to have another one, but if I'm in the area I will definitely stop by. Draft root beer is always a treat. Keep on keeping on Joe.

Best Burger in Town with Amazing Staff and Service!

I recently visited Joe Rouer’s Bar and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive and made me feel right at home.

Now, let’s talk about the food. The burger I had was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. Cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients, it was juicy, flavorful, and left me craving for more. The sides were equally delicious, complementing the meal perfectly.

The service was top-notch throughout my visit. The staff went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed, and their genuine care and hospitality were truly impressive. They even suggested a great spot for cherry picking at Robertson’s Orchard, which turned out to be an amazing experience as well.

Overall, Joe Rouer’s Bar exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you’re a burger enthusiast or just looking for a great place to unwind, this is the spot for you. I can’t wait to come back and enjoy another amazing meal. Highly...

My husband and I had been traveling since 5:30 a.m. from Albuquerque to a cottage along Green Bay for the LSU-Wisconsin game. We stopped by Stodola's IGA for provisions (and expert advice), and were hungry, tired and lost by the time we rolled up into the parking lot at Joe Rouer's. Right at 8:00 -- closing time for the kitchen. Mike takes one look at us and says, "I think we can slip in a couple more orders." Heaven. Of course the burger, fries, fish sandwich and cheese curds were delicious. Everyone has said how terrific the food is. But the welcome these two strangers received from everyone around the bar was heart-warming. This is why people flock to Joe Rouer's. It's good food and good people at its best. Thank...
