Amy's Roadhouse — Restaurant in Town of Richmond

After a day of hiking and waterfall hunting we ended up here for dinner. It is a bar & grill type atmosphere so if you can't handle background noise this is not the place for you. We started with the broccoli cheese bites and breaded mushrooms. Very generous portions for the price and they were delicious !! Wife ordered the tenderloin steak sandwich with waffle fries. I ordered the surf and turf tenderloin and shrimp combo. Wife's tenderloin was a little overcooked and fought back occasionally when trying to take a bite. She said the waffle fries were delicious. I was disappointed with the "salad" it came with (see pic) but I kept in mind it is a bar and grill not a steakhouse. My steak was ordered Medium but came out closer to rare. Nice thing with tenderloin was I really didn't care LOL Fries were the only option given to me although the menu had specified fries, potatoes, or potato salad. We could sit at bar and eat or there were tables available. Owner told me that the majority of the time there is immediate seating.There is alot of seating. Everything was clean and the people were friendly. Bathrooms were small , only 1 person at a time. I had a burger $8. But added onion Rings and barbecue sauce which made it $11. It was good but it was pretty much the same as other places. My wife had the Ribeye sandwich. It was good and you got a large piece of steak cooked to order.We added a order of fries that we split. Had to go up to the bar for drinks because the waitress didn’t feel the need to come to our table. Then waited 2+ hours for food i ordered a mushroom and Swiss basket and a popcorn chicken basket with a side of curds. According to the menu it should’ve been about $28 without tax. I was handed a bill at the end of the night for $48 for only what I ordered. Apparently the waitress can’t add or do simple math. Definitely WILL NOT be going back. $48 for some bs I could’ve paid the actual price of the menu for at Culver’s instead of almost double cause the waitress wanted to pocket some extra money....
