O'Neil Halfway Bar — Restaurant in Town of Riverview

Waited an hour before I decided to remind the waitress about the appetizers and food our table ordered. She avoided our table for the full hour we went up to her and asked about the apps. After we asked her about the apps she says “oh I’ll go check,” we waited another 15 minutes for the apps to finally come out. At this time we were really frustrated with the lack of service. She was bartending with another bartender and catering to the people who were just showing up at the bar. We went up to her again to ask about the food that we were waiting for. She replied again “I’ll go check” she tended to a few more people at the bar and then went to the kitchen. When she came out she went back to tending the bar without first comming to give us ANY UPDATE. After waiting another 25 minutes we finally decided to leave and ask her what happened. She said, and I quote “there is two pizzas in front of you guys, I don’t know what you want me to do!?” She never once said sorry or even offered any kind of explanation for the wait. This story doesn’t even scratch the surface of how horrible the service experience was. It was something out of a movie. I used to wait tables and bartend at a local restaurant. I know things can get busy but the servers can not abandon customer service values as a whole. Update or at least acknowledge us. Let us know that our food was never even started. We paid for our appetizers though. Seemed like a good place. The lady serving there was just awful. It was so bad that it made me want to write a review on how bad that particular waitress was. Stopped here from a recommendation from the gas station attendant in the neighboring town. Were glad we took the suggestion. They had a large menu with many good choices. My wife and I both had the hamburgers. They were home made patties on a kaiser bun. We both thought they were amazing. I eat a lot of burgers at a lot of restaurants, and I would put these up there for one of the more flavorful, quality burgers I've had. I also had the chili, which was a solid recipe. Horrible customer service! We waited an hour and a half to get our food and the bartender/server was extremely rude. He turned away at least 30 people when they asked for menus, t here were 10-15 people in the bar at the time. One family waited an hour and when they finally asked about getting their food they were told it would be longer, after they walked out the bartender said to a local customer at the bar “I don’t recognize them, they won’t be back anyways”.
