Just Stop In — Restaurant in Town of Rockland

Came here this past weekend because family was visiting from Seattle area and wanted a Wisconsin fish fry. We knew fish was served on Saturday even though Wednesday and Friday are fish "specials". We were a party of 7 and we had no complaints about the food. Our waitress was welcoming, friendly and attentive. The PROBLEM with this restaurant is the owner. My visiting daughter took the check to the bar to pay because our waitress had her hands full and was busy with other customers. Even though the always sullen owner was standing behind the bar (not busy), he never greeted her, never smiled, never thanked her. She came back to our table and asked what his problem was. She said it appears like he hates his job, and she was dumbfounded when we told her he was the owner. She said if any of their employees gave that kind of customer service they would be fired. We have enjoyed the food at Just Stop In in the past, but we will not be patronizing this...

Looking for a "new" place for Friday Fish Fry. Discovered this place on internet. Decided to give it a try. WOW!! That was an excellent decision. Wanted to get there around 5:00. Place was crowded already!! Registered with the owner at the host station. He took our "reservation" reassuring us that he would find us when a table opened. We went to the bar and by the time we got our drinks we were called to our table. A wait person was right there to take our order. We settled back figuring we had time to do some vacation planning. Before we could pick a state to visit, our meal arrived. Fantastic!!! My pan fried pike was done to perfection. My wife's butterfly shrimp had no trouble getting her approval. Just moved to De Pere and was looking for a good fish fry today. Stopped in here based on google reviews alone and we're happy we did! Was quite busy when we got there and I was a little worried about the wait time for food with there only being one woman serving and one man tending bar and taking a few orders as well. But friendly service and once our order was in, our food came out rather quickly. This place has a real cozy/hometown bar and grill feel. Lots of seating for as small as the place looks from the outside. Can tell people enjoy coming and returning here! And the haddock basket was awesome.
