Sundaes Restaurant And Tasty Freeze — Restaurant in Town of Roxbury

If you're passing through or live in the area, Sundaes should be a stop. They have an enormous selection of ice cream (both scoop and soft serve). In fact this is the first place I have ever seen with more than vanilla and chocolate soft serv. They have well over 20 flavors of soft serve and so far of the 4 I have tried, they are all delicious. The food is always great diner food and you can get everything exactly how you want it.

Their burgers are super fresh and exactly what you would hope for (order it how you want, rare to well done). You can also get the fresh cut fries softer or crispier as you like since everything is made to order. Serving are generous and one of the best values around. During the summer the outdoor seating is perfect to watch the continuous stream of classic cars and motorcycles come through. They have an app to order ahead if you like (it has all the customizations available too).

Bottom line, for delicious diner food this is the spot. Their specials are always worth trying.

A nice little diner with a classic vibe.

Lots of contemporary options such as chicken wraps, wings, and hamburgers on the menu. The french fries are particularly enjoyable.

There are plenty of flavors of ice cream and a separate ice cream window for quick treat visits and food takeout.

$20 dollar minimum on credit purchases, a bit inconvenient for small orders if you don't carry cash. I believe there is an ATM inside however a surcharge may apply.

My favorite thing on the menu is probably their crispy chicken burger with LTO and pickles.

Takeout is available by phone order, and there are often specials and unique entrees posted on the restaurants social feeds.

I feel that some of the following is necessary for 4 or 5 stars.

Better consistency with call in orders. Better consistency with burgers being cooked to order. A better POS solution that allows for credit/debit on all purchases, small or large. Better cleanliness in the takeout/ice cream pickup area.

The food wasn't that good. I had a Swiss cheese burger with hand cut fries, the roll was cold and slightly stale and the fries they brag about were way over cooked and yet cold and hard. Also had mozzarella cheese sticks with marinara sauce and they were ok at best. We also had a chicken Caesar wrap that had two small previously frozen chicken strips and some iceberg lettuce. If I said it was bland that would be saying it had flavor. The fries that came with it were of course over cooked, hard, and cold. All this came to $38.50 with 2 ice teas. Plus add a 15% tip which after over 30yrs in the food industry was overly generous but I did cut some slack seeing she was buried with little help. I'm going to say the reason it was so sub par was because of new owners that should have let what was from what I hear a great place with good food alone but of course didn't.
