La Margarita Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Town of Royalton

The food and service are amazing! Our family of 5 was up north at our family land and I was in the mood for Mexican. We ended up here and couldn't be happier! The entire family loved the food. The chips were hot and not overly salty. The guacamole is chunky and REAL! My raspberry margarita was perfectly done- not overpowering but the right aftertaste. I had the regular beef taco salad and the shell is crispy and unique! He had the taco salad fajita and raved- it was so full. 14 year old daughter had the rice plate and she had nothing but good things to say (and we recommend they make a rice plate taco salad!). The younger boys had the cheese sticks (mozzarella sticks) and the fries were so good. The rice was perfectly done. This place was kind of out in the middle of no where and I have to say, we will be back when we're up north again and it would even be worth the drive for something special. I eat at Mexican restaurants a lot in the Milwaukee and Waukesha areas but nothing even close to...

No smiles on any of staff! No heat ! Had to eat with our coats on I over heard them say the heat wasn't working and no one can come fix it till after Thanksgiving & that it was 62 degree's in there. Food got cold in minutes. One thing I question is how fast the food comes to the table after ordering. The table next to us a table of 4 people received there order within 5 minutes if even that. No kidding. The temperature of the food needs to be a LOT hotter mine was barely warm almost cold, flavor was VERY good. You get free salsa & chips .( salsa is ok, chips would be better warm) prices are a little high. Decor looks like it was done very fast & sloppy. We were cold, eating almost cold food that was suppose to be hot food in the back dining room, painted badly dark orange/dark blue. It just didn't seem ready to be open quite yet. We had lunch here today, there were only a few tables occupied. We were seated and greeted right away, he took our drink orders, and it took a long time for him to return with our beverages. He took our lunch order, and the food came out very quickly, and then we did not see him again for a very long time. The guacamole and chips. We’re so glad, there was no salt on anything, and the guacamole had no flavor with a very weird texture. I had the steak tostada the steak appeared to be steamed and it was definitely reheated from being cooked previously. One of my guest had the steak tacos, and Could not eat them. The steak was so bad. My other guest had the chicken enchiladas and said they were OK but nothing special. We did order off the lunch menu, but this is not someplace that I would ever return.
