This business has the most horrendous customer service I have ever experienced. I have no idea how the owner is still in business after the way he speaks to his customers. You can tell by his replies on other reviews. After confusion about store hours, he left a nasty reply on my review then blamed other customers, google, facebook, and me instead of politely clarifying. I called him and asked for an apology because no business owner should speak to their customers in that manner. Of course he was again very nasty, rude, and claimed that I was the one that owed him an apology for leaving a 1 star review. If I could leave less than one star I would. I was hoping it would not come down to leaving this review, but Jim needs to learn the value of customer service, and really just how to be a decent human being and speak to people politely. He will leave another nasty reply on this review because that's the kind of person he is, but this is exactly what reviews are for-to tell other customers about what they can expect when and if they decide to service a local business. I understand the appeal of servicing a local business in a town like Rush where there is not much around, but I highly advise anyone who lives locally to drive those extra few minutes to a business that values their customers and treats them with respect. Do not give your money to a business that does not go above and beyond for their customers, as all good businesses should. Ironically, it is typically the small businesses that have the best customer service, but Colby's is an unfortunate exception. Β Β Β Read moreThis place used to be a solid 3.5 out of 5. Not the greatest but reliably OK. For some reason they renovated and changed everything and I swear I'm ok with change. The food is not "different" it's objectively worse. Everything is ....wet. the pulled pork and pulled chicken which used to be fairly solid are now tasteless and tough and I'm pretty sure that's because it's boiled and then kept in the water to keep it warm. There used to be garbage plates, these don't exist anymore. There used to be chicken fingers, these don't exist anymore. What we have instead is a limited menu of pulled pork and chicken, burgers, and ..... that's about it. The sides used to be ok. I had two today, a cucumber tomato thing where it was literally cukes and tomatoes in a container of Italian dressing. But the worst was by far the macaroni and cheese. It was, or at least tastes like, water and cornstarch formed into a sauce poured on top of noodles and then when it's cold, grated cheese on top. The cheese doesn't melt and so you're left with a tepid grey sauce, some noodles and some sad cheese slivers. I'm sorry Colby's I don't know what happened to make the food turn so bad but please, try to do better with what you have. I know it's never going to go back to how it was, but at least maybe hire a consultant to help create a new menu. I'll still come for ice cream and milkshakes and the baked goods are all pretty great, but I won't be buying...
Β Β Β Read moreIt deeply saddens me to write this since we have been coming here numerous times a month for lunches, dinners or dessert since we moved into the area almost 2 years ago and have also gotten them MANY customers by word of mouth. What happened tonight not once but TWICE is NOT ok and we most likely won't be back. My boyfriend and I ordered 2 BLT combos, mine with extra mayo and his with meat sauce. We sit down to eat our food and our BLTs are COVERED with onions and pickles. Nowhere on the menu description does it say anything about either...my boyfriend takes it back in to have it remade and comes back out with it STILL covered in ONIONS! People have allergies and this is not ok! We just make sandwiches however we want to now? I hate that we won't be back because the mistake wasn't even corrected properly.
