It was my birthday today and my husband wanted to take me somewhere new. I’ve gone by this establishment many times and always saw it busy; so I thought let’s try. Very beautiful decor (meaning thought out to catch the patrons eye) and very clean. Two main things to me when you walk into a food establishment. Very friendly employees. Seat yourself atmosphere. The server may have been the owner or unsure. She talked to a lot of people and was doing many things. We ordered Jalapeño poppers and the fish special and a patty melt. This is where things changed a little that I’m not feeling ok about: it took twenty minutes for the appetizer to arrive that was ordered several minutes after we saw the menu, I had to reach out to ask to see if our appetizer was done. The outside was not hot but inside was. Meaning they sat there for a few minutes. Our entrees arrived five minutes after our appetizer. The Patty Melt on the menu is not your traditional patty melt. Some people may like it differently. American cheese used not Swiss cheese. No Thousand Island dressing at all. My husband had the fish special. Instead, the staff were at a pleasant bop and joyful welcome is what we received. My four children were seated and quickly given busy-toys by our waitress who gladly accommodated their ridiculous preferences for who got which toy. The food was happy-dance worthy and made exactly to order! At this point I wasn’t sure what else our family could hope for, until the children finished their food first. I did my Motherly duty and asked for boxes in anticipation of having to finish my meal at home. Then my son noticed a sweet little corner decorated to look like a charming living room. He asked if he could take a closer look and returned with a grin to tell me there were toys! I assumed they wouldn’t be in reach of children if they weren’t intended for them, so this Mom got to finish her coffee warm and leave with her belly happy. Clearly, by attitude and design… this place was made for family memories and I am glad we stumbled in. Oh, and the playlist and chorus of cheerful staff was definitely my favorite highlight. See you all...
