I thought I would give this place a try again after 9 months. Still at the bottom of my list.
To start with, they had the same typical gas station IPA's. I ordered walleye, which was a thin layer of fish encased in a very hard, dark shell. Couldn't get off 'zero' on the taste scale. I've had better fries at McDonald's. And I was afraid to eat the potato salad out of safety concerns. But the coleslaw was good, and they had triangular toast because that makes it look more appetizing? I went home and had leftovers. And, they use the EMPTY hand towel dispenser in the restroom to store extra rolls of toilet paper. I could say more about the staff but I won't. I'm going to bite my thumb. They were out of baked potatoes but were told I could upgrade to sweet potato fries. But, of course, there would be an extra cost. Not knowing what their sweet potato fries were like, I ordered regular French Fries. The fries were these skinny little 1" long cold french fries. Fish was mushy....
Read moreThis is a weekly stop for Thirsty Thursday and Bingo! This is a renovated lake bar and grill under new management for a few years now. There are few spots for parking by the establishment with additional parking across Hwy 40. Parking is not ideal, but it is what it is. Just need to be careful crossing the highway. There is also dock parking for your boat if you’re on the lake! Inside the building you will feel a cool and clean retro vibe. There is limited seating in 2 person booths, tables, and the bar. The menu is great and the food that comes out of the kitchen is amazing. Prices are higher, but the flavors and portions reflect it. Always new menu items each Spring. The newest Hot Beef is delicious. Bar service is superb! The establishment is a sponsor of events and fun. You will want to arrive early if you want a seat to dine when you walk through the door. If you aren’t in a rush, sit and have a cocktail while you wait for a table. Love this place and the...
Read moreWe are locals here, and when we came to this bar, we were treated like outcasts. We came on Bar Bingo night, where it was pats (the bingo announcers) birthday. I tried to ask him what I need to do to play (after he went to everyone at the bar but us) He refused to answer me and one of the bar patterns told me. He was as rude as they come. He was even promoting another bar, (of all things) you really should be careful of the way you treat people. Again as people that live in this town, I will never go back. If you weren't part of their crew, you are not welcome. As a Human Resource Manager of one of the biggest manufacturers in the area, and one of the biggest heating and cooling manufacturers in the area. I'm all about promoting good businesses, but I will not be giving them a good review. Not here nor by mouth. It's sad that people in these amazing backwoods can act so...
