Update 9/29/22
Brought some guests and we had a wonderful meal. The Thursday night chicken special and the pork chop were definitely worth ordering. The fish fry was spectacular, as usual. The side of chili soup with cranberries was a delicious surprise. No I have to try cranberries in the chili I make! Wow! What a fish fry!
My mom and I visited here on a Thursday evening and looked over the menu. Several choices caught our eyes, but the plate of food for the lady at the next table over looked even better. I could see it was a fish fry, but I didn't see that on the menu or the specials, so I asked the waitress about it.
She said it is the walleye fish fry, the same one they have on Friday's special, but without the chicken. My mom and I both ordered it and what was placed before us looked amazing! Each plate had two pieces of deep fried walleye fillet, one piece long and curled and juicy, and the second piece on each plate was a little smaller. I ordered the cheesy scalloped potatoes with it and they were good. My mom had the baked potato.
The salads were crisp and fresh.
AND they serve fry bread with powdered sugar as an appetizer. We didn't order it. The waitress brought it as if it were pre-dinner rolls. They were hot and perfect. ....and with dessert served first, how could anything go wrong after that? Nothing did. The place is perfect.
Travelling South on Ranch Road, as you approach Sissabagama Road, there is a large sign indicating the the turn. When you arrive at the restaurant, it might be a bit confusing where to pull in. It looks like you're entering a resort with cabins. And you are....well, it used to be a resort but now the cabins are condos. Pull around to the lake side of the restaurant and you'll find plenty of parking. Go up the beautiful staircase and enjoy the wooden deck with benches (which my mom said are sometimes filled with people waiting to eat as the restaurant is full!) The sign on the door indicated that there is a handicap accessible entrance at the...
Read moreWe attended fish fry and chicken on Friday night. Parking is tight with the amount of people/cars there. We arrived at 6:30 and were told our wait time would be two hours. Wow! You’re put on a list and get a text message which allows you to see how many are in front of you and the party size it also tells you the wait time. we got a text letting us know they were ready for us. One family was playing games such as Farkle and cards. This might be a great way to pass the time and spend the evening with your group. Games are not provided so bring your own. Also, the water is a short distance away, but the shoreline and access to it is for private property. Picnic tables are set up around the building For customers to wait. Not covered so if hot or raining plan accordingly. About an hour and a half after we checked in we got a text telling us our table was ready. Turned out it was a “fake text “to see who was really there. That was frustrating. It is true family style with long picnic tables where you dine. And it’s quite loud. Choices were baked or fried walleye. Chicken is served with the fish. Fry bread and coleslaw is brought first. The fry bread is fantastic! Think of a doughnut with powdered sugar! Dinner is brought out in a large basket with your fish fries, and or baked potato in the basket. Walleye was good, and chicken was also good, though a bit greasy. It was quite moist. We were seated in the main entryway. Didn’t make it into the “dining room “. I think that’s why our waitress forgot us and was less attentive. She was very very nice and pleasant, however, the check in during our meal was quite delayed. I am not the fish fry gal in our group so my rating is more on environment and service. I do not feel the wait time was worth the food but others may feel different if the like a good...

The Pine Ridge Lodge is a very popular northwestern Wisconsin restaurant. One of the major attractions is the all you can eat Fish & Fried Chicken dinners which are served on Friday and Sunday. It's a true treat.
The fish can be ordered either deep fried or broiled. In the past, I've always ordered the fried version but decided to try the broiled option. Absolutely perfect -- beautifully seasoned, juicy, flaky, served nice and hot and presented on a warmed platter. These dinners are served with choice of potatoes, coleslaw, and fry bread dusted with powdered sugar. The seasoning and preparation of all the foods are genuinely first rate and delicious. There is no equivocation on my part as nothing was less than excellent.
These specials are served family style and all of the fried items are combined in large baskets. Dig in and try some of everything. Seconds are served promptly by the super friendly and attentive staff.
The Pine Ridge wouldn't actually fall into the "Wisconsin Supper Club" category. I would call it more of a high quality Roadhouse. Think of it as country casual. The building is of log cabin construction which is perfect in its wooded, lakeside setting. There is food service in the barroom as well as the separate dining room. It is Northwoods Wisconsin at its best and resplendent with traditional, rustic decor. And of course, the on-tap beer is icy cold. Spotted Cow...
