Kyle's Wigwam — Restaurant in Town of Sandy Creek

Disappointing is an understatement! I heard about Kyle’s Wigwam on Facebook and was very excited to to dine at their restaurant. So, last night (Sunday) my boyfriend and I drove an hour to the Wigwam. From the very beginning it was a mess! The floor inside was wet and very slippery; there were no wet floor signs and the staff didn’t warn guest about it. There was also glass on the floor and underneath our table. Our waitress and other staff were aware of the glass, as they made a point to say they were stepping on glass...yet not a single person cleaned it for the 2 hours we were there. The wait time for ordering our meals and receiving them was also ridiculous! They can’t use the excuse that they were unstaffed on the floor, because there were plenty of empty tables and staff. Some of the staff even had plenty of time to stand/sit around on their phones. An hour after ordering our meals and appetizer, we received our salads; that were warm. Apparently, they only cook for one table at a time...our waitress actually told us that our food was taking so long because a family outside ordered before us. Another 15-20 minutes later we received most of our meals; it was missing an additional steak that we ordered and our appetizer. I asked where our appetizer was and the waitress said she forgot about it because she didn’t write anything down while we were ordering. So, again we waited longer for the additional steak and shrimp appetizer. I’m also going to make a point to say that some of the staff were the most unfriendly restaurant employees I’ve ever seen, especially the hostess of the restaurant; she looked absolutely miserable the whole time we were there. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the food tasted good...not good enough to EVER make up for the awful staff and environment unfortunately though. I understand it’s hard to find employees that actually want to work these days, but this place seriously needs to do something about some of their staff. The food and drinks weren’t cheap, which makes me that much more upset by the way the staff act at this place. About 6 customers including us 3. ( the other 3 were guys drinking at the bar.) Super loud music downstairs, so we asked to sit upstairs. Wexwerecwith myb80 year old mom. The waitress said we'll there are only 2 of us working. So I said ok we will go somewhere else. She said ok fine sit upstairs. I had to ask to have the filthy table wiped off. So she wiped it off with a stopping wet rag and then we had to dry it with napkins. Then we asked for the specials and she said well actually we are all out of almost everything. So we asked if they had fish and she said yes they have fish. So we all ordered fish with plain Skippers and we each got about five Skippers on our plate. No one ever came back to ask us for drink refills or if we needed anything. I actually had to walk downstairs to get to go containers and finally she came back up with our check which was $90 for three fish dinners a Coke a glass of wine and two blueberry battles with no blueberries because they were out of blueberries because they're $90 a case so they don't have them anymore so the drinks were still the same amount without the blueberries. I am typically a overtipper but I left a $5 tip the service was horrendous all the waitresses and the bartender were downstairs chatting and goofing around with and the the guys sitting at the bar. I have been to the Wigwam last year for the first time and it was great. But, I came back this year because it was hot out and I was close by, this place seems like broke down. Everything on the menu doubled from the last time I have seen it and from what you see online. Me and my boyfriend were seated at a tall table with 3 different sets of patio furniture, the tall chair i was in was extremely unstable and wobbly. We asked to move or change out my boyfriends chair, it was just a metal stool, and we got some attitude from our waitress. So both me and my boyfriend ordered their special for the night with our sides. It took almost an hour to get our food. We both ordered our steaks medium rare, and the came over well done. We both got pond skippers and they came to us a bit burnt and mine had cheese on it, I never asked for cheese on my skippers. I also got macaroni and cheese but I never got it so we had to ask for it only for it to be cold and very mushy. Over all the food came out cold from the start and was extremely mediocre. I did not feel comfortable walking in this restaurant and it is way over priced for low quality food. Truly the worst $60 spent.
