Between the Greens — Restaurant in Town of Saukville

I would not recommend this restaurant. The food was very good and the waitstaff was wonderful. Here is what happened. Friday July 1 2022 my husband & I decided to try Between the Greens for the first time as we were on our way to another restaurant for dinner. The waitress was friendly and helpful as was the young man that sat us. Immediately we noticed lots of the F... word coming out of the kitchen, loudly. The cook would yell "CRYSTAL ORDER UP!" often and startlingly loud. I asked our waitress about the fish on the menu that was pan fried as they were out of the baked fish. I wanted to be sure it was not deep-fried. The waitress went to confirm with the cook (who was completely visible and could be heard by all in the restaurant/bar) his response was loud and clear "If she can't read the f----- menu, don't order it!" First, the positive: Staff was on the ball. Drinks are priced well.

Been here plenty of times in the past and I absolutely LOVE the patty melt, reuben, and broasted chicken. All outstanding.

Came here last Friday and tried the "fish and chips" (no trip to the salad bar, as that is an extra charge / different ). The basket was (I think) $14. It was 3 small, identical strips of frozen fish patties. Very small, greasy, and just ok in taste. In the basket was also a few waffle fries, and a half slice of marble rye. We got $0.50 off each meal when we asked about cole slaw (we were told the kitchen forgot it).

Focus: Don't get the cod. It's glorified frozen fish sticks. You will also leave hungry.

Get the other dished I mentioned. They are awesome.

Food and drinks are above average, but the wife and I ordered the all white broasted chicken that is an up charge of 2 dollars, we we're driving home, looked inside to find 2 wings and 2 thighs, so we called them back to tell them they gave us thighs instead of breasts. They were adamant that thighs were white meat even though on their menu it says 2 wings and 2 breasts for all white meat option. Went back to get breasts to be told we need to give back the thighs that were still in our containers with the rest of our food. Then preceded to stand there dumbfounded expecting us to take the thighs out with no container to put them in. Terrible experience, better...
